Social media is not banned here in Sri lanka. But very recently the parliament adopted a new law restricting peoples ability to criticize any politician or any other person in social media.

Thats very interesting - sounds like a type of censorship, unless it suits their narrative. How are you finding things in daily life with this going on?

@@InvestedAdventure The reason for enforcing that law is, during the 2021 and 2022 economic crisis there was a civil uprising against the president and the government and Majority of people in the country got United through Social medias to expel the president and the government. And the president and the government really had to resign. A new president and a government was appointed but there is no election until the end of this year. So still the past government and politicians has the power in the country. They enforced this law very recently in fear of another civil uprising. Anyways all of those corrupt politicians will be sent home forever from the next election. So there is nothing to be afraid of and here in Sri Lanka it's impossible to rule the country from a dictatorship or a military rule because of the social structure of this country and people. So the politicians can never do that and they are now spending the last few months of their political career untill the next election.

Once again this is not India, Pakistan or other South Asian countries you have visited, Sri Lanka is a very different country in terms of typical ideology and lifestyle and has a different perspective than the usual Asian stereotypes and also rules and regulations are very different.

The political history and economic volatility is pretty unique, I must admit. So too was the religion, by comparison to say India as a close neighbour. There are similarities but also differences, I agree. I understand as an islander myself

luv to see ppl enjoy what they doing..i can see it in ur face bro..its really something to see, that energy that zing...keep going bruv! luvly to see ppl who find the purpose n meaning of their life. i had a purpose and meaning (getting chosen into a very specialised medical degree..only 40 out of over 600 who applied got chosen..didnt even think id make it)..but i did...but then, 2 months into the course someone doxxed me from what i posted anonymously on reddit that i made in the past which was considered derogatory remarks against women (wasnt even that bad.)...n i got expelled. a very high-handed penalty...shit happens..tryna find my way back and work forward.. no point crying about the past. like fk cancel culture. im 40 and hav no track record of any bad behaviour...just this one isolated post
