My dad was at RAF Blackpool during the war, he was a metalwork instructor because they built bombers (?) there. He was based outside so they would cycle into Blackpool at the weekend, drink and then cycle back, leave their bikes in a ditch because they were too drunk and a lorry would get the bikes and the odd one who didnt make it back!

Hi Stephen I did some research re the T Shirt Guinness Bass connection. Here goes. Black & Tan This layered beer drink made of half stout (generally Guinness) and half pale ale (often Bass) works because the stout is less dense than the ale, so it floats atop the lighter-colored beer, creating a two-tone pint that's the obvious source of the drink's name. You live and learn eh?❤
