I colored my NATURAL HAIR RED with NO BLEACH!

I've been wanting to do this FOREVER, but never knew a way around the bleach and i always felt like people were lying when they got color without bleach. IT WORKS YALL IT WORKS! :) I could've done a better job presentation wise, but the color process works thats all that matters. Try it guys! Remember we have to take care of our natural hair always, but we can still be cute :) I bought everything from my local beauty supply store by the way.

There is no bleach but hi color is a high lift so it lifts the hair aggressively in order to deposit the vibrant red tone. Hi lift with 40 is just as damaging as bleach with 20 volume when done incorrectly. Both methods done correctly with proper after care will not damage the hair :-)

Nice colour. Just an FYI: Some good protein filler products to add to your coloured/dyed hair care regime (pre & post colour) would be the Colorful Neutral Filler or Colorful Color filler which will also help to even out your colour and also comes in other colours including red and, Roux's porosity control corrector and conditioner.

a developer is a peroxide based color stripper so it has the same effect at a bleach but with a higher alkaline level

Nice job it reminded me of when I first dyed mines red, used the same brand dye. I also ran out of product so I had to go back and my hair is long and thick but I didn't use the copper color, all in looks great take care of it.

What my beautician did for my red hair (LOL my aunt) was color my hair blonde first which caused her to not have to use bleach used developer & then colored it red with Adore's Crimson (i believe)...Your color came out super cute tho! & HEARD sis with the lip tube of Vaseline lol get it how you live ma!

Aswani King if her hair was light enough a high lift color could have been used (such as color ion's 12n). she probably also uses 'color' loosely. she most likely meant bleach

My hair isn't very long but I start at the tips and end at the root because the heat from your scalp makes it lighten quicker. Thus if you start at the tips you can get a more even tone down to the root. I'm not a professional but I'm a color addict and I generally have no more than 3 inches of hair because I keep it short..... just a frame of reference.

1st mistake was the brand of color. 2nd mistake was using a 40 developer with a color that contains bleach. FYI if it lifts more than 3 shades it contain s bleach.
