I was👌🏾 close to shaving my hair because I can't afford to keep getting my SLs retightened. Then the Loc gods whispered in my ear "combine them child" and I did just that lol. I've had my SLs for 2 years as of June 10 and they still aren't fully locked towards the middle of the lock down to the end of my hair so I just 2 strand twisted them in groups of 4 and put a rubber band to stop it from unraveling. I also used a wax to help the parts that actually did lock stay together.

I SO agree. I got my install done 2 months ago and I’m about to combine my front ones too because I just can’t get comfortable with the size difference from the front to the back. My consultant won’t redo the front. Says she doesn’t do customization. So I’m leaving her and just gonna do it on my own. Wish me luck

OMG same... my front is perfect and so small but the ones in the back are just a little tad bigger and I just can't get jiggy with it so I think I'll be combining mine also

Thx for posting. My SLs will be 2 in July, but I've decided to combine them so that I can maintain them myself. I braided them at first (4 SLs, a few days ago), but I think the 2-strand twists will be prettier.

Your locs are really beautiful and loving the black color. Try shampooing with a color resistant shampoo. I use a brand by Ion it can be found at Sallys and it helps keep my black locs black. :)

I struggle with being consistent with interlocking because it’s too costly and it will take me hours to days😤😫.. so I was palm rolling, which thicken my locks.. then I would go a month w/o retwist.. kayajourney lol! Never say never right! lol I have only been loc'd now for 1 month and I'm already starting to change my mind about loc size. I knew that I would learn new things about myself along this journey. I just didn't know it would be so soon lol I can def see me doing some combining after I'm fully locked.

You and your hair are beautiful. But, Microlocs are smaller or same size as Sisterlocs. Just Sisterlocs are a technical and patented name & approach. I have DIY Microlocs & it took me 3 days for only half my hair. They are so small my hair looks loose & I have to tell ppl they are installed. Still new so locs are not totally locked yet. Hence, the word micro. Again you look beautiful.
