Hey AB, it’s worth reading up on the GDPR rules. For example (and they don’t like this), you have a right to make a DSAR verbally, or in writing, and to any member of staff. You could have literally said ‘I’m making a data subject access request for a copy of the photo that was taken of me’, passed her a copy of your email address, and then just walk away. Under the law, that’s a perfectly valid request, and they’d have to comply ‘with no undue delay’ and certainly no later than 30 days after the request is made. They cannot insist you do it in writing or online - if they do, they’re not upholding your rights, and Article 82 gives you a right to claim compensation!

An officer apologising when in the wrong is the difference between a good public/police relationship. It shows that they are human too and make mistakes. Unfortunately the police are not trained to be human. They are trained to be robots, devoid of any morals or conscience. Unbeknowing to them that by doing so is only going to make replacing them with actual metal and composite robots even easier in the not too distant future. Less pensions to pay out but same oppressive results for the govt.

The lady in the background of the Reception area was awesome (with her suggestion for you to go along for a ride along with Chief Inspector Andy Martin). More of her kind, in the Police 'service' would be a breath of fresh air, it's commendable, her nice attitude and obvious love for the community spirit. Well done to her!! 🎖️
