Lol in my gym, after being a white belt for 2 years, there isnt even a thought of me beibg promoted to blue. When i first joined, there were people there for almost 2 years and are still white belts in my gym. If we dont train 4-5 days a week and regularly compete, we will never get one and those that do conpete and train 4-5 days a week, it still takes them avarage of 3 years to be promoted to blue.

hi, saw your account and it's very inspiring to me as a 1 y white belt. I don't feel rushed to get my blueb as I know that if i get strong foundation i will progress faster in the distant future. Your "nomad" life for bbelt, was it pricey, cheap, normal ecc...(asking because as I will transfer nations basically for work plus university, I feel like doing 10+ comps at wbelt could help me create a very good system. Sorry if my comment was too long and ty for the eventual response) 😇🤙🤙 for info i'm 22
@joshbeambjj5 ай бұрын
Hey man that’s awesome to hear! It’s expensive to travel, but there are ways to minimize that. If you can find a competition buddy and split hotel expenses, that helps. Ideally though if you can stay in a more local area and hit all the comps there, that is usually the least expensive

I’m sure you’re an awesome jiu-jitsu athlete, but don’t you think the belt colours get a bit ridiculous? Most people seem to peak skill-wise at purple, with brown and black just formalities for time served.
@joshbeambjj4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Interesting argument, I mean I think purple is definitely the first like intermediate/advanced phase, and I've seen a lot of really good purple belts who might as well be black belts, but I feel like there's levels to it, especially in the bucket of black belt competitors.
