A theory which I will aswell reveal on reddit: what if the fire at syntec was on March 5th and planned by Nelson, at the space where D was doing her project, because he already knew (which seemed to be the case) that D wanted to get rid of him. So he planed it to happen so that D would be less of a threat no matter the cost and made it so that it looked like an incident this happened. A reason why something with his name was there halfway burned. D got hurt really badly and Syphus' co-founder made it possible to let her be alive and working again, by making her a half robot/Cyborg. On the tape the man aswell sounded like a human beeing but D's voice was more sounding kind of robotic, so at this point she talked to the co-founder with that rather angry expression because she found out and because the co-founder didn't listen she made something that would stop Nelson. Before it all fell apart she conected with the computer and made this "file" D3B, or better said Deb, that is why it is her. And she realized stuff happening so she messaged John Doe which is the co-founder, that Nelson is back and you are the ones that they need for their fight. Nelson on the other hand found out that you found the stuff he needed and tries to get it. So you guys were chosen to put an end on this because both sides need that stuff quickly to hurt the opposite side. What do you all think? Wouldn't that be a crazy thing to happen? It probably won't make it to the team because they only look at the most liked stuff. So if you think this is something cool or even more then like it.

Here’s a theory: the reason why D can’t reveal why they were chosen is because she is Sam from the future. Deborah=Sam, Nelson=Matt, and Wesley=Woods. Earlier in the series, experiments were revealed to be some sort of time travel. These three were “chosen” because it is actually then from the future. D can’t reveal that because they wouldn’t be able to comprehend it.

What if D can see the future (and this concept can only exist now that we know that the series isn’t real). Maybe that’s what the experiments and life’s blood is for. She said everything goes dark after March 5th so maybe her abilities stop after then. Also Sam’s birthday was predicted to maybe D has insight into the future. Also if D was the one speaking in the emulator that means that she was the one that said that the unit timed out. She was kind of making the conversation end. I definitely think that D can’t be trusted. While Syphus is definitely dangerous, he hasn’t lied to you as far as we know. D has, and she’s asking for the same thing Syphus is, all your evidence. I think that both of them can’t be trusted but I just find it ironic that the one that broke in is the one who’s been the most honest.

Sam's Story and the Orchestration of Events that Followed The papers found on Sam, i.e. the newspaper clippings and the paper with her birthdate on them to me point to her being a Genetic Engineered human. This seems like it was planned years in advance and makes sense of the paper dated 1997 if this was the case. The newspaper clippings of Sam to me points to a check up on Test Tube baby number 1 as alluded to from a previous Reddit review video. Syntec is a Science lab and conducts tests with chemicals and who knows what else which may include Test Tube babies. Woods may very well be another test tube baby, which explains the papers about him. Syntec seems to me to be orchestrating events within their lives to get everyone to this moment in time which may explain how Matthias came upon the buildings in the first place and the talent agencies that Sam went through... All the secrets and discoveries found about Syntec seem to place it as a Government Aided Lab that went rogue or a Secretive Lab that hid its secrets which explains all the codes and conspiracies involved...
