I tried this game, and had fun at first, but it quickly became a case of never feeling like I had an impact on any match; my team seemed to either steam-roll the other team, or get steam-rolled, and nothing I did seemed to make a difference. And the grind was _terrible_. Very much balanced to make it tedious to get _anywhere_ without repeatedly shelling out cash.

this is basically how all of Wargaming's games work. Balanced so tightly that it's impossible to ever feel like you're doing anything. It's by design, because the Pay to Win model is built around three phases: 1 - ingest new players and get them amped up with rapid progress through the early levels against easy opponents 2 - crush their spirits 3 - wait for them to get so terminally fed up that they go to the cash shop to get revenge on the players roflstomping them.

Painting the ship as a Union Jack would actually be an effective camouflage for ocean warfare as it would make it harder to judge things like the size and speed of the ship making it harder to hit, the effect was called dazzle camouflage and it revolves around breaking up the ship visual profile to make it harder to measure points of reference and get an accurate shot at it. The Union Jack is therefore patriotic and functional.

rce you should use ap when the target is broadside even in british bb's its still much devastation. Also you can switch things around the settings to show the ship names and stuff. And you make the minimap bigger which helps with situational awareness.

Bruh I started playing like a 3 months ago, and lemme tell you if I was able to get that starter pack, that would have been insane. Premium time is really valuable if you plan on playing f2p and same with doubloons. The Emden is ok, and the Saint Louis is ok, but they are both tier 3(which is really low) so the premium time and the doubloons are the main parts. It's a fun game and a lot more goes into it than you may think. Look up some WoWs youtubers like Flambass and Flamu and iChase, they all make content about the game; Flambass is more just streamed games and he talks about his process, but Flamu and iChase are more educational. You really cant just get the game and play, you sorta gotta know what you are doing, because it is a *lot* of strategy that in some cases is counterintuitive. Also, there are a lot of things not said in the game for ships stats that are super important, and different nations and classes have different flavors,for instance German BBs have horribly inaccurate guns but they hit super hard and their armor is excellent at short range, so you really wanna get in close, whereas Japanese torpedo boad DDs are really torp focused with really strong torps and lackluster guns and you want to remain unspotted. Americans in general have good AA and Brittish BBs have really good HE(most BBs use AP a lot more) and so they use that more often. All surface ships hate CVs, and the only reason I play them occasionally is because of the absolutely *beautiful* graphics. Also the commander system is confusing for a new player, and there was a rework to how it works a month before I started playing, so most of the info about commanders is outdated and not useable because it was completely changed. Also switching from HE to AP is a huge part of the game. In the low tiers you can just yolo rush and do ok, but when you get to tier 5, oh boy it's a rude awakening. But the problem is is that in low tiers, when you apply the strategies of tier 5+ games(which will be at least 99%, because you go through the first 4 tiers like nothing) you will not do well. It's weird. Holy crap this would be an acceptable college thesis. If you made it here, why did you take like 10 minutes to read a badly written essay(bc I'm doing this on my phone)?

I know the video is 4 months old but this bugged me enough that I have to mention..... You fought a battleship with high explosive from close range. Just for future reference when a battleship gets close use armor piercing it will do more damage and kill them much faster. Sorry for the very late info but again it really bugged me.
