I am honestly kind of divided on this story. Yes, the jerk that had dumped the girl was exposed for a lot of crimes, as well as had also treated a lot of other women horribly as well, and that part was handled well. However, the problem is that the story pretty much said that the people had to give up what they loved in order to better themselves. Yes, them working together to support is a good thing for couples goals, but, as long as what you love is not harmful to your life, the lives of others, and/or being acts of idolatry, witchcraft, or sorcery, then it is kind of a toxic message to send to people that they must give up on what they love in order to find love. Yes, competing against a hobby is a thing that should never be promoted, but supporting a hobby that the person that you love likes, provided that you do not totally hate it, is a good thing to do, even if it is not your scene, and/or are not good with that hobby in your life. Does anyone else feel this way as well, yes or no?

It's not about gratefulness or gender. Just because you like someone or do something nice for them, that doesn't mean they have to fall in love with you... In these kinds of love stories, the FMC's boyfriend has to be painted as a complete jerk in order for the viewer to justify the MMC stealing her away. But in the one-sided love variant I suggested, the boyfriend isn't a bad guy, just a guy who wants something special... for instance, what if the boyfriend was the breadwinner who came home too exhausted to teach his fiancée how to cook, leading the FMC to seek help in that regard? The MMC's help would only strengthen her current relationship, regardless of the crush he has for the woman... you can even add tension by making the MCs childhood friends, but that won't stop the fact that the boyfriend is still a good man who is continuously doing all he can for his beloved.

Like the one where the MC's gf leaves him because he doesn't listen to her about his workaholic life, but he does (eventually) listen to his childhood crush and the ex-gf realises she wasn't the one for him. I mean, if you look at why it didn't work out with the ex, it is because she entered the relationship trying to fix him, rather than learning his flow like the childhood friend did. The issue with fixers are that their love are doomed to fail cause they lose the passion of the chase when the partner adheres to all their changes. However, that bittersweet realization is actually a good thing because she can gain inspiration and insight from his childhood friend on how to relax on her compulsions and use her qualities to become a very supportive girlfriend to someone much more fitting to them. But on a story seller's perspective, I noticed that the commentors get upset when the antagonists don't burn and the good guys don't find happiness. So a good way to tweak that story would be the ex returning with her own boyfriend she's supporting. Pretty well same sentiment (as I read it as her supporting her ex), and maybe even make the men friends, but just giving her a happy ending too.
