A demo in demolition as well as a lesson in physics? What a deal! Also, why not put a rocket on the projectile to keep it moving even after launch, as well as just putting a spike or a lot of weight on it, so just sheer force is the destructive element, rather than a boring explosive.

I think I know why the rocket seemed very inconsistent. The gyro was last known to be set to activate with E and Q, the buttons also used in the 'and' gate to launch
@kayoVibrant Жыл бұрын
I believe the problem with the inconsistency was happening because the AND gate required Scrapman to press e. Each time, he might have pressed e later giving the contraption another spin and therefore, more speed which amplifies the tiny inconsistency present because of the game.
@phoenixdonner8553 Жыл бұрын
More likely the frame rate I think. I do agree though. It’s worse if the game is also non-deterministic with its physics. You can tell it is because of the way changing the game speed effects the physics.

Would like to see you make this other games Scrapman. I personally think the editor was quite rude when correcting ScrapMan and was disrespectful when doing so. Scrapman understands who watches his videos and he cleverly makes his content clear and engaging for all ages, through how he plays and his editing style. I also find the editing style of this video to be quite common across KZbin, It works on some channels, but not here as it's very distracting and makes the video about the edit and not the content, with no added benefit and losing part of what makes Scrapman's channel great. His really good attention to detail, especially while editing. The best editor should go unnoticed and is there to support the content and not there to compete for attention.

Anyone else notice that the issue seems to be the gyroscope? When you have artifacts like this --22:00 where the rocket isn't even facing the right direction, yeah, clearly something funky is going on and making a potential negative contribution. Would love to see this get a re-visit to just not use a hacky gyroscope work-around. Cause things really did start to fall apart when you decided to use a work around to counter it choosing to obey physics ( which gyroscopes do _not_ ).

That spin actually does happen. When testing on the real-life unit it does exit erratically and eventually fixes itself in the air but loses a ton of speed when going up sideways.
@nemasisdemarini8339 Жыл бұрын
The double power swivel wasn't inconsistent with it's spin. It just spun fast enough for the bomb to hit the ground, detonate, and destabilize the rotation.
@MrXcuses Жыл бұрын
I dont think thrusters would defeat the purpose of spin launching. I think it’s to help yes reduce the amount of fuel used but as well as allowing the payload attached to it to not use as much of its own fuel for the initial energy which is usually where the highest burn rate is.
@thmsbkr3 Жыл бұрын
I think part of the issue with double stacking the swivels had to do with your gyroscope. When you would spin up your bomb was trying to stabilize while your swivels were not very stable. Probably would have been better if you'd have built from both sides so everything could've been more stable. (Gyroscope also probably had to do with your rotation while stationary.)

@ibawkbawki Жыл бұрын
I tried to build this in space engineers (would be helpful in that game right? Realism too) there’s not really air physics so I couldn’t make it a vacuum (although pulling air out would be possible I don’t think it’d do anything) But yeah this was difficult asf 😂 there’s not really great timing in that game, at least as customizable as this. I kept having the payload blow throw the sidewalls or clip something and explode the whole station lol. It’s was very fun trying though 😂 maybe I’ll try again the game got a big update, added a lot of tech stuff maybe it’s possible now
@WillDa713 Жыл бұрын
The reason why your game speed affects your spin is that you probably have an unconnected block clipping somewhere inside your creation. Try clicking a block that is obviously connected to the structure, such as the cab or one of those big panels on the bottom, then select connected parts and invert the selection, you can then move the piece to see what it is and place it back or just delete it if it's a duplicate. Clipping blocks can be some of the most extremes form of power in physics based games like this one, so it looks like you've only got a single small block glitched in the launching arm
@WillDa713 Жыл бұрын
forgot to mention why slowing down time makes it spin backwards. Your thrust is a constant set by the engines, whereas the energy output by the clipping block comes from its collisions with the rest of the structure. With time slowing down, the game is allowed to calculate a greater number of movements and collisions, thus increasing the "propelling" power of the block while the thrusters keep their relative value regardless of time speed. hope it all makes sense, it's still all a guess but it would also explain why the arm would randomly start spinning clockwise and counter-clockwise
@WillDa713 Жыл бұрын
i'm still watching the video and you've got the concept in mind it's the same problem you've explained with why the sensor worked differently under different time conditions

I think most of the inconsistency is due to the sensor wabble, it is detecting the launch arm sooner/later than intended because of the angle. perhaps try adding a anchor below the sensor and a solid plate to connect it to at the desired direction to fix its location and prevent excess wabble.
@famus_tem8351 Жыл бұрын
my thought for making a spin launch is splitting the counterbalance using release connectors. then you can have multiple payloads and the counterbalance will become lighter and lighter to stay in balance.

I kow what happened. As the gyrating entity on the screen achieves a rotational velocity of utmost extremity, precisely aligning with the angular momentum generated by its eccentric, inertia-driven release point! This, my dear friend, instigates an off-kilter perimeter distillation, thus unleashing a cataclysmic cascade of calamities, all due to the incongruous encounter between the 144Hz refresh rate and a series of gravity-fueled calculations, multiplied by the off-axis vector dampening. As this bewildering concoction reaches the brink of critical mass, it sets in motion a temporal anomaly, compelling the fabric of time to retrace its steps in a most peculiar fashion! But wait, there's more! Upon decelerating the visual record, we bear witness to a phenomenon that defies the very foundations of science - the transmutation of matter from a solid to a gaseous state in the blink of an eye! This extraordinary display, with roots in the slit experiment and the principles of relativity, precipitates a most unusual circumstance: the unraveling of time itself, rewinding in an impeccably accurate manner, retracing the events as they initially transpired. -Written by Matt and Inspired by Doc Brown from 'Back to the Future'.

thats the conservation of angular momentum IE the spinning after launch is the main issue with the spin launch system .. they need to add a leverage system in their launcher on the projectile end to counter that rotation which they have in their test design its def possible tho
