Asians been perming their hair for many, many years. The most popular is curly perms
@hollybrooke322 Жыл бұрын
I feel like most of this isn’t needed in the west as the majority of westerners have a different hair type and can get the same results with the right cut and blow dry. My sons hair (and the majority of his friends because his particular cut is in style here right now) naturally lays down on the sides and back really well and has lots of volume on top. They just have it cut and shaped and my son lets it dry naturally.

LisaD I'm with you girl 👍. I'm Native American and my brother has hair like Alfred's but much more course. I've always spent too much money on my hair. But my poor brother had such a mess until adulthood. He would benefit from a perm like this. Great info and video Tina 👍

that's why men in Korea look so much more attractive on the outside cuz they take care of themselves, grooming yourself doesn't mean you become feminine or anything. more men need to know when they're clean, smell good, and look presentable many women will be attracted to them

So funny how times have changed. Back in the 90s, my brother (who is a dashing 6’ 2” korean dude) and I were always made fun of or kept calling us chinks simply bc they weren’t exposed to korean culture. Now korean boys are all the rage!!

@@eunicee999i obviously can’t speak for everyone, but i think that pople weren’t much aware of Koreans before. In my case (as a fellow 90s Kid myself) the only contact i had with Koreans was in my brothers and mine Taekwondo class 😅 The popularity increased as Korean media became more westernised etc. at least that’s what I’ve noticed during the last 10 years

Perms have come such a long way it’s crazy. Back in the mid-to-late 90’s, I remember getting a couple of straightening perms at the hair salon that cost a fortune and never actually did anything except damage my hair. And my hair is fine, thin, caucasian North American girl hair that’s wavy bordering on curly, so I never understood why taming it with a perm seemed such a challenge. Years later in my early twenties when I finally embraced the texture, I actually got a spiral perm at one point which was honestly amazing and turned my weird, limp, uneven curl/waves into the consistent spirals of my dreams (briefly). I’m still confused why the curly perm took so well but the straightening never ever did. 🤷♀️

Very nice outcome! In relation to the down perm, in the US, we have this kind of creme hair treatment but it's called a "hair relaxer" and this has been done in the US since the early 1900s. The "relaxer" is not just done the US, it's also in other countries as well.

Tell Alfred to use a nightly hair-side flattener. Asian guys wear it with some gel while they sleep and it helps train their side hair to grow flat and stay flat during the day.

👋 hello! This is a very interesting video. I never knew Asian men down from their hair, I’ve never heard of it before! I’m a female, and I have a long blondish hair. But I always had a problem with not enough volume on top because my hair is so straight naturally, that the weight would just make it like flat on top so I used to perm my hair to give up volume at the roots. But that would only last a few weeks, maybe a month. And it was just wasn’t healthy for me to perm my hair every month! Now that I’m a little bit older, I can create my own volume without a perm by keeping like a long, layered, bob hairstyle, and I love it! 😮 wow, what a transformation!👍❤️

This is genius they have lowered the strength of a regular relaxer and renamed it a down relaxer and call a old school perm like out of California with volume and a light curl pattern. It looks good on him. I think the tissue on the sides and styling the hair with the chemical is smart. It gives the look you want.

I have a question about these Korean perms. When you perm the root, won't you have a single curl still permed as the hair grows out, slowly moving/growing further away from your head? Cause normal perm for curls leaves the curls where they were and then the straight hair starts to grow, so you are left with a visible line between unpermed and permed hair.
@ineedKyulS Жыл бұрын
I've had straightenings / root perm done in Korean, and I can say it's the attentiveness of the stylist that applies the perm that makes that crease (as visible) or not. I don't know how they did it, but I think one trick was paying attention to the direction of hair growth and applying the perm down it in that direction.
