Not a chef, but i worked in a kitchen for a short while, it was always either the tongs, or even scarier, my knife. Always worried id bump a counter and shank myself. It usually was to be found next to the sink drying (i cleaned after every use, we werent a very busy place, and only had 1 knife (1 of like 4 different types but yknow) so cleaning after every use was a very "me" thing, nobody else did)

The percentage of alcohol in white wine isn't enough to be flammable if poured onto a gas burner. The water content is much higher so would put out the gas before the alcohol has a chance to catch fire. Even with a higher percentage alcohol like brandy (like you might have on Christmas Pudding set alight) you have to warm the brandy up first, then light it, and then you have to be really careful with it so it doesn't just get blown out by the air flow as you move the ladle to pour it over.

Pro Tip IRL: When making burgers or meatloaf with ground beef, for extra tenderness add a splash of milk to the beef before you mix it. The enzymes in the milk help break down some of the proteins and it makes for a damn good burger. Also, make sure you remove all shard of glass from it before you eat it.
