Our best (again, sparky) was when we cored a 4" for a bathroom fan, and the heating engineer (sorry) ran his 28mm copper flow pipe right across our hole. Discussions were had :D lol. Fortunately the customer was having the house rendered so we just cored another one while giving him sideeye lol

Ah there's always that clash between sparks and plumbers, but in this case I'm on your side 😉

@@cputilitysolutions to be fair he did apologize, he'd not even spotted it lol, he just pushed the pipe thru existing holes LOL. I usually find plumbers easy to work with, even if y'all do nick the easiest routes ... cables are more flexible than copper pipe

Question for you, sparky here. There's a 'soon to be redundant' gas line in a property we're rewiring. Gas is off, but we (well me!) managed to nick it today with a skilsaw :( ... is it acceptable for me to joint it temporarily, or should we just lock off the gas main till the heating guy turns up?
@TheChipmunk20083 ай бұрын
additional info, it's a 15mm feeding the boiler, but it needs to be 22mm, not gas safe regd obviously, just don't want some pratt turning the gas back on in the mean time?
@cputilitysolutions3 ай бұрын
Defo lock the gas off mate until the heating guy turns up, you don't wanna have any risks on your shoulders with a potential gas leak. Best to cover yourself 👍🏾
@TheChipmunk20083 ай бұрын
@@cputilitysolutions So locking off is acceptable rather than trying to repair the damage (may do both just in case, ta mate :) )
@TheChipmunk20083 ай бұрын
The 15mm heating flow and return i'll just use slip couplers on, he's fine with that
@TheChipmunk20083 ай бұрын
Was a bit anoying, the skilsaw was set to the right depth but the notch in the joists was slightly too shallow so the board was literally resting on the pipes

Why couldn’t the boiler have been placed on the back wall where the flue is going out? Is it because there’s a pipe Running along that back window wall?
@cputilitysolutions2 ай бұрын
Yes and the customer didn't want it fitted against that wall
@CEO7862 ай бұрын
@@cputilitysolutions oh right I see, it would have looked a lot more neater and the flue wouldn’t have been so apparent. From what I could see the place was going to be enclosed. I guess you had to go with what the customer wanted.
