Thanks you Danit, I enjoy these later talks where you can better understand the dynamic movement of Terence’s mind. This one is quite good. Lux Natura, a small publishing company founded in 1977 by Terence and his former partner Kathleen Harrison seems to be Botanical Dimensions as mentioned in this recording.

Very eye-opening Danit. The Tao is "the way" and you can only point to it. The light, source, God, spontaneity, however you choose to describe it. Our world is form. You can touch it. It's tangible, like thoughts existing in our minds. The other extreme is ego dissolution, but you cannot have a sense of self without the ego (You cannot meditate forever). So the next question is befriending your ego. Your ego is also you! I think our society tends to obsess extremities of defining the ego. So basically, we are the middle way. Mediating higher realm and reality as we experience it through our senses. It's obvious, but most folks still treat religion and spirituality, as something to identify with, to own. To dictate how to live. I think there is a strong tendency to "own" the idea of God, as conceptual. We are born out of this world, so we must be God too. The more I examine my thoughts, subtle pushes on what to do, how to feel, how to act, it's like I'm talking to myself but that self is through God/the universe. So my "God" self is within me and I can access it. Quite interesting. The key here is we can conceive things we cannot communicate. It's just a matter of having the courage to let go of our preconvictions. That is kind of what I've been frustrated with. How do I know what I feel is the same as what a Christian feels? Or a Muslim? or a Buddhist? And so, I used to think I needed to "Subscribe" to a religion to meet God. In fact, God is with me in every mindful moment. It's just trusting and having faith without constantly worrying about it :)

I'm a huge fan of Terence but I don't know that I agree with one of his bigger points here. When he frames the state of the world as a failure of the/all artists that seems to ignore much larger influences on all of us. Humanity and the planet are going through a ton of crises on many different scales which can't be a coincidence. They're pretty much all the fault of humans but that's my point. In other talks Terence says we're going through an initiation, an alchemical process, and that makes more sense to me than that nobody has come up with a catchy enough song or whatever. Still tho I get what he's saying - art can be powerful

He seems to be talking about the Tao "The name that can be named is not the eternal name." Therefore, "art and magic are the special province of [the Tao]." The Tao loves art and magic. The Tao loves the irrational. As opposed to the ego which loves rationality and science. The Tao wants to yield and let go. The ego wants to control and hold on. The Tao embraces Chaos and Unpredictability. The ego seeks Order and predictability.

Why did people laugh when McKenna said that psychedelics show you more art in a few seconds than what humankind has produced in 20,000 years? That is a simple fact, not a joke.

Jesus visited me in Spirit when I cried out to God in jail 18 years ago.... 🙏 I read The Entire Bible in Jail 6 months . My foundation in Faith was Set. I gave up my grey empty heart of Stone inside a Red Holy ⛺️ tent I placed it on a Shelf while Jesus was with me in my dream in jail. 7 days later another dream I was filled with Fire from above and it was The Holy Spirit. I then walked by Faith Believing and Giving in my trials and tribulations for 18 years up until now. Believing in God's Righteousness through Jesus faith on The Cross for penalty of Our Sins I meditated day and night and GOD FINALY EXPUNGED MY RECORD IN COURT FULLY. FOREGIVEN BY GOD'S GRACE AND LOVE AND UNDERSTANDINGS AND COMPASSION I AM FREE

My life is quite different. Religion was a chain that dragged me down and psilocybin broke that chain for me, allowing me to swim out of the toxic waters of a dogmatic life involving religion and into the fresh air of novel understanding through process. The path you walk works for you and I accept that, hopefully you can accept that the path I walk works for me. Our paths may not be for each other, but the paths can still be walked through the lens of empathy and love.

Science is the special province of the Ego? Spoken like a true new age wingnut. Let me guess..forget about verifiable claims...go with the power of positive attraction! It's not anything like wishful thinking...it's on a completely different plane. A plane that I pulled out of my behind. Science is the special province of people that want proof and live in the REAL world. But maybe if you WISH hard enough you can will it into existence. Good luck with that. 😮
