This is definitely one of Disney's most underrated films. Not quite up there with the genuine masterpieces, but still a fun, wholesome, and enjoyable little flick. Also, "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat" is one of the catchiest bops ever.

The mouse IS Winnie the Pooh! That’s Sterling Holloway, his voice before Jim Cummings took over after his death. Thomas is voiced by Phil Harris who voiced Baloo in Jungle Book. And Eva Gabor is Duchess. You might know her as the voice of Bianca in The Rescuers.

I remember there used to be fan commentaries on this movie, and the person said that this was Phil Harris playing the same character for the second time. They think O'Malley has the same personality as Baloo and Little John.

He was a regular on the hugely successful JACK BENNY SHOW, and later the co-star of his own show with his wife, movie star Alice Faye. He was also a bandleader and singer, known for novelty tunes like "The Thing" and "That's What I Like About the South." For his Disney appearances, he used the same persona as he had for playing "himself" on the radio. His voice would have been easily identifiable to many adults in 1970.

aww i adored this movie as a kid!! i had a cat named mally a few years ago (poor little guy had a genetic disorder and didn't live long) but i'd hold him and sing the "thomas o'mally" song to him all the time lol this movie was so fun as a kid. this and bedknobs and broomsticks (you should definitely watch that one too, it mixes animation like mary poppins does) were my favorites

I am shocked I didn’t wear this vhs out as a kid considering how often I watched it. I’ve seen this movie loosely compared with the similarly vastly underrated Oliver and Company sometimes as they’re both animal centered, animated movies with great music. You might want to check it out sometime.

I watch your BBT and Futurama reactions, didn't know you had a second channel xD Wish I knew, I could have watched you react to one of my favorite Disney movies already a month ago^^ Love Aristocats, all the main characters are so precious^^ About the only bad thing for me - I mean, besides that Siamese cat - is that the butler is an idiot antagonist, the money would belong to cats but he would be the one who'd be spending them anyway. But other than that, it was really fun and wholesome movie. It MIGHT be one of the few movies I would like Disney to make a live action remake off? MIGHT be. I dislike the live action remakes, BUT Aristocats is so an underrated movie, and I wish it had more attention. There were even ideas for a sequel about 20 years or so ago (so 30 years after the original movie, I think that would be a some sort of record?) with a tv show to follow, but nothing came from that. Also: 19:36 "Cat's don't live 9 times 12 years" Well, no, but the oldest cat ever was like 38 when she died, so 3 times 12 years I guess? ;p

The "Chinese" cat is probably a moggy but looks like a Siamese cat. Siamese cats are actually Thai, because Thailand used to be called Siam. So there's two layers of racism - first they make a Thai-originated cat Chinese, then they make a stereotype out of him by having him play the piano with chopsticks and spout random Chinese words.

That slight racist joke wasn't anywhere near as bad as stuff I seen in other movies (like Bee Movie and Disney's new show, Primos) Tbh, this is one of the only few classic Disney movies that I don't want to cancel... like, isn't this movie so much better than an underage mermaid wearing nothing but seashells and drawn to be over sexualized?

Tbh I hated the movie because of other reasons (dog abuse and neglect child neglect, and the people were just really bugging me) i had no idea there were stereotypes in it. I couldn't even get past the first few scenes.

@@jocelynecupcake As for the abuse and neglect… I think it would bother me more, if it were portrayed like it was supposed to be okay / not a problem.; I question their very nearly leaving the baby BEFORE the sitter got there, but- they did _have_ a sitter. Then neglect depicts, what two often can happen with the family pet when it couple gets caught up in the demands o new parenthood (…at least it was only for a temporary period of adjustment?) - Aunt Sarah’s abuse is another matter; it is inexcusable, and we the audience are not meant to like or approve it l.
