For future reference, Bowser comes up with finding a Banzai Bill in the forest because he knows that he's launched tons of them at Peach's Castle over the years, and theoretically, at least one of them would have missed and landed in the forest. It's a surprising display of logic on Bowser's part considering how hot-headed and illogical he tends to be. Edit: This is also probably why Wiggler has the Banzai Bill, as well. One almost hit the farm, and the Wigglers stashed it.

I mean, you have to fix his back, then he talks about how he feels more flexible than ever, then realizes that he can now roll up... even though he already did during that attack... My guess is, that during development, they figured out they want to add the Shy Guy attack, before actually deciding when he'd learn the spike ball and that's where that inconsistency came from.

I liked the video solely for the accurate description of Starlow. EDIT: Somehow it never occurred to me until just now watching this video that Bowser becoming gigantic after being fatally wounded isn't something Alpha Dream just pulled out of nowhere. If I recall correctly, the release order surrounding BIS is: Sunshine, PiT, NSMB(DS), BIS, then the rest of the NSMB games. Bowser canonically dies, like straight up dies, in New Super Mario Bros 1, and is revived and made larger using a potion made by Jr. This new body for Bowser comes with many enhanced and somewhat unnatural features, including growing giant from adrenaline (He was able to do this in Sunshine beforehand because the bath was also made from a similar potion, and he'd spent hours in there), rolling up into a ball (upon his back tension being released) and compatibility with the Vacuum Shroom which he later learned to control. All three of these abilities went on to become a permanent part of Bowser's moveset in later games, with growing giant appearing in basically all of them, rolling up into a ball seen in the final fights of both Galaxy games, and the vacuum being seen a bit more rarely, with examples being Dream Team's cutscene before the final boss and Mario Party 9 when any dice on the field during his battle that have his logo will be inhaled and converted into fireballs

You made the Wiggler fight harder then it needed to be. When you see enemies on the top screen in this game, you can inhale them and make the bros fight them. When doing this with the Leaf Guys in the Wiggler fight, They drop the giant Turnip which hits every section except the very back one. So you just have to punch the back section over and over until one shows up, and they show up fairly often.

Unironically I am 100% sure that someone at Alphadream was into inflation and vore, like. One of the moves you learn in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga is to let Mario drink water from a hose and get inflated so Luigi can hammer you and spit water out. In Partners In Time, that same move is given to Baby Mario and Luigi as they have the hammers in that game, and the entire level of Yoshi’s Island is getting swallowed by a giant mutant Shroob Yoshi that is clearly the inspiration for this game. The prevalence of inflation/fattening and vote in these games is just way too much to be a coincidence.

My brother and I have an inside joke about that particular part of the game because I spent 1 month stuck on the carrot mini-game, then another month stuck on Wiggler, and then put my DS down for another month when I realized I had to do the Durmite. I eventually beat it and then totally quit for a while once I found out about Midbus in Fawful Theater😂! Wait, the fire flower *does* hit units in the air.... I've used it on the boss at 33:40. It shields the color of the brother that didn't activate, but it does work.

Yeah I think he might’ve been misremembering in that case, cause in Partners in Time, the fire flower in fact *can’t* hit air units by itself without the babies’ help

It may also be due to the fact that they made fire flower USELESS against the boss in the remake, the boss now counts the bro attacks individually, so since fire flower hits with both brothers, it triggers both shields and does no damage
