What a disappointing end to this storyline! They took the focus off male domestic abuse to make it about who killed Rayne, and then made the victim responsible for the death. It's so hard to have a storyline about abuse with men. How disrespectful to anyone who goes through or has gone through this in real life! And the storyline itself doesn't make any sense. So Romeo chose to spend years in jail for something that was done in self-defense, and he has a video that proves it?!

This is why Hollyoaks needs to leave these heavy storylines alone. The writers are not capable of bringing these topics to life in a realistic or meaningful way. He has the evidence that proves it was self defense and not only doesn't use it in his own defense but was ready to allow Prince to go to prison for murder? Plus, no offense to the lady who played Rayne since it's about the character and not the actress, this whole plot was just boring and pointless and that they used it to destroy multiple legacy characters? No hope for this show honestly lol

I couldn’t agree more!! If it was necessary for the writers to kill off Rayne this could of been a better whodunnit storyline. To either have a character who wasn’t a suspect or for Rayne to commit suicide and frame it as murder(before the reveal I did see people point this out). But realistically I would had preferred for Rayne not to be killed off and to watch her downfall, and get her comeuppance for all the awful things she did. It would had been so satisfying to watch her downfall and to lose everything she created. I was so excited when this story started but now couldn’t be more disappointed, I’m so pissed off how it’s ended.

The fact that Romeo, Prince, Hunter, Peri, Sam, Zoe, Lizzie, Nadira, Donna - Marie, Phoenix (formerly Brooke) and Lacey all suffered one way or another because of Rayne's actions is a testament to Jemma Donovan's ability as an actress. She's actually the daughter and granddaughter of former Neighbours actors Jason Donovan (her father) who played Scott Robinson and Terrence Donovan (her grandfather) who played Doug Willis, although she herself is British 🇬🇧 as opposed to her Australian 🇦🇺 father and grandfather. I hope she has a bright future ahead of her in other soaps 🧼.

They can splash out on a car crash but still can't put a full courtroom with extras back in a scene... At the very least, the axing of the soap awards for this year will have served this one well...

We go back to him again when the judge is asking him how he pleads, still 2.25. Hollyoaks are seriously lacking in attention to detail. They obviously don't care.

Oh for OA’s sake he was a victim not a murderer this is ridiculous Rayne was an abuser he shouldn’t’ve pleaded guilty. I hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Romeo I really hope Owen’s not leaving the show permanently but if he is leaving I hope it’s only temporarily and I know there’s more to this puzzle on that video I just know that there’s a third piece. I know Nadira has left the village and I also read Phoenix and Shing Lin are also leaving the village too (hopefully not Dave though) still since that’s happening for Phoenix he’s off the list I still believe the third piece of the puzzle is Zoe. 😒

I actually feel a bit angry at Hollyoaks. Male DV stories are rare and when there is finally representation, its sidelined into a murder story or takes the focus away. It would've been better for her to get her comeuppance through going to prison, not death. Very short story and disappointing

@@charlalar14 that wasn't Lucy Allan's plan though. Halfway through the Rafe Storyline and the Rayne storyline she was fired and the plotline re-written to go in a different direction. Rafe was never meant to be part of a scheme involving Patrick Blake's daughter. He really was supposed to be a Royal
