One of the best drill ever, just tried and work direct for me. I'm struggling for a month now, I was thinking that my club face was square, but in fact not at all, this drill helps me to visualize correctly the face and what to do to bring it square !!! Thank you Alex

Epic!! That was an amazing tutorial on squaring the club face! Best I’ve seen to not only visualize but to have a concrete look and feel to each club. Fantastic! Thank you!!

I'm 74 in good health and really enjoying my rounds after watching your videos. I watch two per day and some over and over. This one drill has really helped. I do it in the back yard 10 times with iron and driver daily. Enjoying long straight drives 220+. The other day I skyballed one drive and partner commented ...even a pop up is straight!

Excellent tips Alex for squaring up irons and driver! I have found that hand position at address is important as well. I try to play all of my clubs whereas my hands are on the inside of my left thigh! Then I have to assure myself that the ball is also positioned right. Good job Alex!

Great job Alex thanks for this brilliant video! I always struggle to determine the relationship between the clubface and ball position, and always have problems with my grip, hitting nasty fat hooks with my irons. Today I used your little drill and finally nailed my grip and ball position problems! It is so easy to distinguish minor differences and decompose every aspect of the setup with it. Very very helpful! Please keep them coming and appreciate your help very much!

I have submitted to play a fade with both irons and driver, that gives me less stress becouse I know how the ball will curve. To avoid a big slice I just imagine a straight fade and club travels with less open face. If you can’t beat the slice, embrace it :)

if the right arm doesn't fully flex, it can, also, cause the head to move up in the backswing. the arm moves up, instead of flexing back, moving the head up with it. the muscle in the left side of the right forearm should be fully flexed at the top. it actually effects a slight pause when the right arm fully flexes. it is always a good idea, especially in winter, to do a few swings with just your right arm- no club- to ensure that the muscles in the right arm are fully warmed up, before you head out onto the range. but, a player should be able see, with their peripheral vision, when the left side of their right forearm is facing straight in front of them, in the backswing. they can then lever their right arm back, to the top of their backswing. and, when the right arm is fully flexed at the top, it actually activates the muscles in the shoulder. and, this presses the left side of the head down, slightly at the top of the backswing.

For the life of me, I can't imagine trying to time a small wrist movement at or near impact. I've heard that some say to roll lead hand knuckles down to square at impact, at full swing speed, sounds like hook city to me.
@waynemuller1589 Жыл бұрын
It's all down to your micro muscles controlled by your subconscious to square the club face.
@richardallison8023 Жыл бұрын
The simplest method is to set your left hand grip stronger than most...not overly so, but to the point where the logo on the glove is set to your club face. That logo, that hand position equals a squared club face. It's really that simple, and a few practice sessions will show it. Not my original idea, rather I learned it from Hank Haney, and he's spot on.

By squaring it up like that are you not eliminating the Loft by closing the angle trajectory from face to ball. Rebound trajectory a bit like snooker and the white ball rebound of of the color ball depicts the angle it reflects at. The ball will ping of the club different depending on the Angle of the surface it pings of of. So a flat surface will punch it straight and a angle bottom to top back will loft the ball and top to bottom back drop the ball. ?????

This is something I'll need to try..... My main issue is at the top of my backswing.... When I start the downswing I uncoil like a helicopter so most of misses are a straight 60 yard pull since my clubface is 4-12 degrees shut on impact.... I have a REALLY hard time trying to drop my arms on my first downswing move to prevent the uncoiling like a helicopter
@A.Man.. Жыл бұрын
thanks for this....would appreciate if you didn't cut into another shot for the last shot, for me, its better warts n all. thanks for the drill, amazing drill, will be working on this with a square block of polystyrene to see how I square on a full swing. hopefully the indentation should give some feedback.

I'm not clear. If you square the clubface to the box how you show, wouldn't that take out all the loft on the club?

If you can't square the club, you can't play consistent golf. It doesn't really matter how it happens really, but all good players do it. I have been playing the Maxfli Tour balls. My biggest change this year has been 100% going to a yellow ball and I will never go back to white.
