Hey dude. This is my first watch of your video. I know exactly how you feel. I took 20 years to finish my project and am pleased to say she is afloat. This is your project and have your own reasons for doing it. Pace yourself and enjoy the work. The reward of launching her far outweighs any small hiccups along the way. Keep up the good work. 👍👍✊🤙

Hey thanks very much for your good comments Ian, appreciated and good on you for persisting with your boat project! What boat design did you build and where? Yes, agreed that the launch will be VERY emotional, SO MUCH on that moment! 🙂👍🏻

@@BuildingSYMistress Hey. I designed my own boat. 46’ cold moulded stripped with red cedar and double diagonal plank. Full keel. Gaff rig cutter. I put dynema rigging And electric motor. I am very happy with the way she sails. Did Plymouth to Lisbon in January. I built her in Cornwall. How long have you been going for. I will catch up on some of your vids.

@@ianmajor4000 Fantastic, great to hear a little of your story and well done! I've been going 15+ years mostly part-time until recent years, which includes X2 serious surgical operations earlier on taking me out of action for 4 years, another X2 less serious operations but another 1 year out + the usual other "life" factors! Thanks for checking out Mistress' journeys 🙂👍🏻

Well your situation does not sound too dissimilar from mine. Mine was a messy divorce and also two serious surgeries. It’s the journey that counts. I believe we are a privileged rare breed who have the opportunity, skills and fortitude to do projects like these. Like yourself I had highs and lows. I quickly learned to take breaks and each time I would come back rejuvenated. I completely understand your highs and lows. Keep up the faith and the good work. Fantastic. 👍👏

Since you seem to appreciate constructive criticism, I appreciate the narrative that you offer for the work you are doing. As a personal editorial I'd like to say how much I enjoy witnessing this passion project come along. It is absolutely obvious in the detail of the work that you have a firm grasp of the entire endeavor. Boat building in and of itself is a serious multidisciplinary craft, add in videography to[much and it is quite the undertaking. Along with the certain 'rules' that must be followed, you are also quite capable of self expression in the form of fine art as you take dutiful pride in each and every little bit that you create. The engine housing in particular as well as the various functional cabinetry that fill the hull with charm, beauty and personality. Thank you for inviting us all in. 👍

Thank you very much for your good comments and taking the time to put these thoughts down Finn, much appreciated and yes you are correct indeed re. boat building being a serious multidisciplinary craft! To me it seems clear that you do have an understanding of both my motivation and end goals 🙂👌🏻

I hope that you have not taken any comments I have left with suggestions as complaints. They were never intended that way. I just find it a shame that your channel does not have more support. You do fantastic work. Sure I would love to see more detail but that is just me. From watching all of the building channels that I am subscribed to the only difference I see between those projects and yours is MAYBE video length. But that is just my intuition. Otherwise, you have the same consistency of output, the same quality of work, and similar video quality. I continue to wish you all the best.

Welcome and thanks very much Hairy, appreciated and fyi Yes, honesty is very important to me, my highest moral actually! Cool that you too understand the still current utility of an old school Hitachi tool 😁👍🏻

Hey Bruce, this is the way I look at your vids and every other vid I watch like yours, right from the start mate over and above anyone or anything, IT'S YOUR CHANNEL MATE, so you DO what YOU DO and we watch it, if they don't like watching, then bloody don't, go to another channel, just don't blow steam up your pipe because of anything your doing on YOUR channel. Just keep doin' what you're doin' mate you will NEVER EVER please everyone. Sorry for the rant Buddy but I see this SO MUCH, try and don't let the NEGATIVITY get you down mate, after all, IT'S YOUR CHANNEL.By the way Bruce that light at the end of the tunnel is daylight or a train, It's a distant lighthouse calling you on to continue regardless mate. Take care, stay safe Buddy, Seeya Rob

Hi Bruce, Please accept my apologies for my OCD getting let loose, but while I think your wood choice and finish on your cabin sole is outstanding, the fact that it doesn't appear to line up across the panels from the companionway to the v-berth just triggers me. It is clearly my problem, but I just wanted to check with you in case there was a plan to do something later with that aesthetic, which obviously won't stop a launch. Other than that, your work is an inspiration to those with a big project. I agree with your need to stop work to 'sharpen the saw', as it will reset the enthusiasm level when done properly. Cheer Steve.

Thanks for your good comments Steve, appreciated and I guess as the saying goes, each to their own, right?! Jfyi the cabin sole layout actually looks more in place in reality and when inside 🙂👍🏻

From the first video of yours that I watched, I have thought your production to be very good in all respects. As your experience grew, the videos have only improved. As the test pilot said after the Supermarine Spitfire prototype's maiden flight, "Don't change anything"! (Literally, it was "Don't touch anything")

Dont change a thing about your videos (after all it's your videos. If you like it its right), stay true to your self and listen to your body and mind. The hints thay give you, that enough is enough only becomes evident the next time you hit the wall. Slow down and forget about the dates and deadlines and get back to just enjoying what you do while doing it. If you manage that the wall will crumble in front of you.(after 14 days you may still be in the darkness. Not really beeing able to see the wall you only assume that must be what you have hit (my experience anyway)) As always I love the efforts you put into every little thing about mistress. Keep enjoying it. We only watch the videos, if you finish we might run out of videos to watch, and we don't want that now, do we.😄
