I think there needs to be a clear difference between strength and safety here, old volvos are surprisingly unsafe in collisions, particularly head on ones, due to the lack of a good front deformation. I'm swedish, have owned a 940 and 760, and now i drive saab, they were simply safer in these times. Volvos are amazing at taking hits without becoming undriveable, and that's the charm, but while the car might be safe, your body, particularly your neck, will thank a car with a better deformation zone, in a head on collision. In an old car newspaper from 2005, the saab 9-5 was deemed the safest car in the world by insurance companies If most people saw the comparison in front deformation with a saab 9-5 vs say a 740 they'd overwhelmingly think the 740 is much safer The v70n (9-5 contender) is also very safe, much more so than an old box volvo Moral of the story please don't go and buy a volvo 1-2-4-7-9 and expect it to be safer than a new car

What all do you have on this car. Saw the camber plate, which I didn’t know they made. Did you cut the springs, or IPD springs.. what about sway bars ? Sounds straight piped.. or you cut the resonator out .. Oh coil overs.... where did you get those for a 740. I had an 85, 740, Na, m46, straight piped to an open supertrap exhaust. Stainless one
