Awesome information. Love your channel. New Grad COTA, looking to have a side business as an Ergonomics Specialist in my local community. Starting out in Inpatient rehab setting at a local hospital, but also want to have my own business on the side i.e. Office Ergonomics, and/or Home Modifications. Thoughts?

From an aspiring OT, thank you for this video, Jesus Christ bless you and your family! Maybe you have already addressed this in your prior videos: is it possible to go into OT as a contractor immediately after getting licensed to practice in your current State? Also, in your experience is Acute Care the least paper-work intense of the specialties for OT for the States in which you have practiced rehab services?

Thank you. You can definitely start working as an OT contractor, but ideally you need some experience. I would also say that Acute care generally requires less documentation but it really depends on where you work.

What are some of the hassles dealing with Medicare companies? Could you go into a little more detail about that

It can just be challenging to become an approved provider and dealing with their rules.

Greetings! Been watching your videos, great info. I'm interested in going back to school and becoming an OT. I have volunteered for a couple months and enjoyed the one on one interactions with patients. I have a bachelors degree in supply chain management but I have no passion in this field. Do you recommend me going back to school this late? Just turned 37 so I do feel discouraged. Any feedback would be appreciated.

That’s a tough one. OT is a good job. My main concern would be loans and finding a program that would accept you. I also enjoy the idea of OT much better than my job where I work. Honestly I’m feeling burned out but making these videos helps me be more interested in my field. I hope that helps.
