The only time I had to create a fake partner is when creeps at my job, either customers or employees, would try to ask me out. Like, I'm asexual and just don't care about "coupling". I just saw this video in my feed and wanted to add that sometimes I even create a "fake family", like I will say I have a husband and children who are in college like a week ago when someone drove up onto the sidewalk next to my house while I was outside with my dogs. An older man got out of the truck and said he wanted the old water heater that was on my side of the yard. He didn't ask if he could have it, he said he "wanted", it and that'd he wanted right then and there if possible. I said it'd be put out the following day at seven in the morning for trash collection and that he was welcomed to come and get it then. This guy was just standing there like I was going to open my gate for some stranger and especially with my dogs already barking. I told him to have a good afternoon hoping he would leave, but then he started telling me how beautiful one of my dogs was and I was like I know she's beautiful that's why her name is Vixen and then he proceeds to ask how many dogs I have like he wasn't already being creepy enough. I tried to be polite and got back to saying the water heater would be put out by "my husband", or "one of my sons", because I thought making it sound like I had a house full of men would make him back off. So he finally left. I'd like to think he was really only interested in the water heater, but dude was a straight up creep about it.

I remember creating a fake crush on some dude too when I was younger because I still hadn't come out to my family or friends and they started to become suspicious because I would never talk about my crushes or people I found attractive like most of the girls would at my age would. Many of the girls at curch and school thought there was something wrong with me because I wouldn't get shy or flustered when I would talk or hangout with they guys in my classes hence why they got suspicious. At some point, the some girls asked me if I needed help getting a boyfriend and if I did they had a few family members that were single and that they could set me up with one of them hence why I had to lie about having a "crush". I came out to my family and told them that the whole crush thing was a lie. They don't really understand my sexuality since they are very religious so I often have to explain it them but they are very supportive in their own ways. I'm Asexual btw.
