I still when I used make only scripts for a conlang but one I thought to make a conlang itself. So it took me 5 days for grammar and 10 for words. I created 1000 words. I will say "How are you " in my conlang ,"khashhiankdu matsi." Edit: I forgot to say that my conlang has tones . So khashhiankdu mãsi will be I am good. Khashhiankdu means good and Masi means you so literally good you? And mãsi means me or I. So khashhiankdu mãsi literally means good me.

For your first conlang, I'd recommend using the grammar of a language you know, especially your native language, this will help you understand it without having to have to learn your own conlang (in the same way as if you changed the grammar completely from a language you know).

I love conlang stuff!! I created an alien language called Kru’vev and it has some pretty weird rules compared to earth stuff but it’s not unnecessarily difficult. “Kafm’ovia’ Joe Zhet’hunululaa” means “every day, Joe is not very difficult”. Stuff is different depending on specific prefixes and suffixes but not like in English

I love conlangs! I have lots of trouble learning them though, because of all these words.. I don't know what Lexicon means aha, but that's not the only word. I've tried to create my own conlang several times, but I just can't, and I don't think I can do it properly. That's why I make "secret languages", or I think.. pseudo language? I've ran out of ideas though. The language I am most proud of making is Tukkolai or (Tukolā) but it's a boring pseudo language and I don't feel like it's right, because there's technically English in there and it's not its own thing. You're so lucky you can make a conlang 😵‍💫. I've always wanted to make a conlang out of letters from the English alphabet, without accented letters, but I don't know if doing without them will work out. It's not like I can do it anyway 🤷‍♀️

Pro tip: Making words by hand makes your brain work, and your also creating something from your own mind and not a computer; A computer is given inputs and spits outputs, you are given a creative challenge and spit out how your specific brain solves it. By hand is the way to go with anything related to any art, trust me.

tbh if you make roots yourself they end up sounding way too similiar to each other because of your personal biases (omg I love this sound so much), and when you purposefully try to be different, it just looks foreign wordgens with reasonable phonotactics (not the "every combination of consonants is allowed cuz why not" one) is the way to go, even djp recommends this

My language's words don't sound homogeneous, so I can't make a comment about tips to avoid that besides don't make them sound homogeneous.

Eca'ak'hulo ey'osh'dso il'niak'esa'uhti umo'ni Sesoqanese? Hehe, it means "can you teach me sesoqanese?". The quotations are a bit much but if you understand the concept and grammar its totally necessary 😅 i find your language really interesting! All i did was make up a few gibberish phrases for each letter in the Mangolanian alphabet (language is Mangolane) and mash em up to create some sort of alien code like up above. It needs grammatical changes and stuff but id like to know how to speak yours! And as you can see, it turns out pretty long..based off mostly african and arabic bases, but some of the sound phrases were based off german preferences. Its also connected to its own cultural religion. Hit me up in the comments if you ever wanna language talk! Edit: this is pretty weird but ive ditched this project and moved on to a new language called manrilean linked to a religion called youthism. You can still hmu tho!

i have that too! It's called Okenese, from my last name "Okken". It's a mix of Dutch and English (i speak both fluently). Þits is an foorsempel-zinšens fof þe Okeneše taayul. (This is an example sentence of the Okenese language.) The grammar is based of the dutch grammar, since that's my first language. If you know English and Dutch, it's very easy to learn!

My language is called 'чрілліч' crillic. I decided to use the crillic alphabet because I thought that russian and Ukrainian was too hard for me, so I decided to use the crillic alphabet but easier. If you know English, then you can learn it to, since it has literal English translation, but you must know the чрілліч alphabet first. For example. Hi in English is h and I. So in crillic, its гі. *Г=h* *і=i* hi=гі.

For me, naming the language is waaaaay down the list. The one I'm currently working on... Here's my process: okay, so these creatures basically have a duck bill/beak so they don't have lips. And they have a sinus crest arrangement like a horn or flute, with 2 holes which can be capped with a flap of skin to make three different tones. The high tone will be for alarm originally, developed into questions, potential falsehoods etc. The lowest tone is a long distance communication now used for proven factual statements only. Nasal sounds will predominate due to the large sinuses. They won't use any unvoiced consonants and fricatives will be least common. Because there are no lips they won't be able to make O or U sounds (experiments with holding lips stiff and making various noises) so yeah, 3 vowels only, aa ehh and ii. All long. Very slow spoken language. Consonants... let's have three points of placing the mouth and tongue. Labiodental, alveolar and velar. 3s seem to be a big deal in this culture, maybe they have a base 3 number system? Anyway we'll go with m, n and ng; voiced stops b, d and g; fricatives V, Z and a kind of rolled G I dunno what to call it; and liquid R, L and J. The written language will be an abjad, written with a calligraphic brush and the angle of the letter will denote the vowel - we'll say a is \, e is | and i is /. Now to fiddle around with letter shapes and generate some root words and grammar...

Oh I am creating my own Language too! It's called Tamadith,and it's inspired by Hebrew.It's written from right to left,like other Semitic language do,and the characters are blocks like Hebrew and Chinese - my native language.But it isn't exactly pronounced like Semitic languages. For the sounds, I'd recommend going on the IPA Wikipedia, it shows you the symbols and allows you to hear how it sounds. You should also try watching maybe a tutorial or smth to understand more about conlanging, so if you try again, it'll be easier for you

I'm currently making a language called kà-nỳl-soā and I'm having trouble with the grammar (scroll for more) So basically if i wanted to translate "I have seen a dog" I would first break it down "I (the language doesn't have 'have') to see dog" And then into the spoken version "chö-(symbol for past tense)-bō-äst-hīʃ" Which is basically three symbols, I basically turned five words into three symbols ps the language is in svo and words like have, done, before are all replaced with the past tense symbol aka : : and present tense is : . Future tense is : and predictive tense is . (Predictive tense is when someone says "I think so and so will happen").

you shouldn't just map every word with its english counterparts. that's not how language works. for example, is there a need for a seperate word for "are"? or you can just use a suffix. maybe completely omitting it?

For my language, I used English grammar. Yep. Just English grammar. The reason is, in my code language I made when I was like 8, I never chose a language I knew to use as a base for grammar, so I made everything up which was confusing to use with friends. So to make it easier for us, I’m using English grammar.

i've tried making my own language before, i think it turned out pretty well, it looks like korean but sounds like japanese (an example of a sentence would be "ke lamashino konsu netoka sayenba" which means "i have to take a break")

naming it should never come first id recommend setting some goals, building a phonology, and going on from there
