right and yet look at these politicians who are in position....abusing their power ...abusing the right to freedom busy spending the govt money and not even thinking to strive to do better and spend government money to improving the country and lives of Filipinos... those soldier heros put their lives on the libe to give us freedom and not policians having freedom na mangungurakot, at gumawa ang family mansion, pasyal pasyal with family using government money... I hope we value freedom given to us in all forms....

The US used the Filipinos as cannon fodders at that time against the Koreans who were trying to liberate their country and they are doing it again today with China. The Filipinos believe in their capacity to help other nations in their struggles for freedom and sovereignty. But the US has deceived them many times.

As a Filipino and an Atheist, I have only respect for our veterans. There's no way I want to take that away from them even if I don't believe the same things as them. There is no excuse for me to say anything about their beliefs, only applaud and be proud of their merits. I actually felt the same as the KZbinr. I was also starting to tear up.

Just a background: the commitment that President Quirino had in sending his son and son-in-law to war is even more amazing considering he already lost his wife and three other children to Japanese troops in WW2. He must have been terrified, but he didn’t hesitate because he put his country first. I wonder how many of today’s world leaders can still do that? Different times…😢

I remember the story my father always tells us how brave and willing our Filipino soldiers to die and fought on the Korean War. He was a member of the 19TH BCT, being the 2nd batch of the conntigent of PEPTOK, to arrive in Korea. According to him they taste the baptism of war during there 2nd day in Korea while they were transported thru 6x6 trucks to the frontline. There are more stories of his experiences in the Korean War that he narrated to us during his lifetime. After his assignment in Korea he continued his services being a Philippine Army and he transfered to Philippine Constabulary we back in 1955 until he retires in the service in year 1977 as Provincial Investigator in the Philippine Constabulary Province of Leyte. My only regret to the heroism and patriotism of my father was that he died without even having a flag on his coffin or a military honor during his burial. I salute to him for his dedication in the service of our Nation.

Gen. Douglas MacArthur It was in the Battle of Yuldong that the Filipinos once again proved their bravery in combat which made fitting the words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur: “Give me 10,000 Filipino soldiers and I will conquer the world.”

Filipinos are not brave to attack but the bravest to defend any aggressor. We can't afford to be humiliated. We give our life for honor to God and the country.
