It's real fun to see all these comments from 5 years ago, saying Sam can't give emotions... She broke the world's heart with her performance of Eponine on Les Mis film last year. So impressive how much she has improved, she is a great performer and a very sweet person, I'm just really proud of her :)

I live in the US and never heard of Samantha but I loved her in the movie Les Mis. I listened to her song over and over. I thought it was the best and most emotional song in the movie.

Furious that Sam was saved over Rachel - but not surprised. Rachel was amazing. Great mission tonight (Sam's was, as usual, forgettable). I wouldn't pay money to see Sam - she hasn't moved me at all and Nancy should be able to make an audience cry.

It's a competition. In the theatre industry, you're constantly compared to people, ESPECIALLY when you're out for the same role, and when it's your work ethic that the panel's commenting on. John's comment may have been surprising, but I wouldn't say it's unprofessional in the least.

I agree, I really hate it when people think they have the right to criticise and compare people publically, my director is like that in the show I'm doing, and it resulted in one of the supporting roles quitting. Jessie is amazing, and has a far more emotive voice than Samantha's, they're both great, but I thought Jessie was far more siuted to the role of Nancy

I agree. None of the girls were 'rubbish' or 'crap'. They're all really talented...but only one of them seemed to be spot on with all three theatrical disciplines. They've all been brilliant to varying degrees. But who is actually Nancy?? Rachel was closest to my ideal but she was just one girl out of 12 finalists. Thousands auditioned.

I don't understand it either. Maybe it's because I'd like to see the real grit and drama brought out of this musical, rather than the cheese. Rachel would've been so real. Sam is aesthetically pleasing, and I would just be frustrated if I went to see her play Nancy.

Sam should definitly win!!!! I love the way all the sam haters on this are jessie fans. Their just jealous that Sam is younger and more talented! Jessie has peaked already and Sam has so much more to show!!! And i think that the judges are getting a bit worried of how the public vote is going! I like jodie aswell so Sam or jodie for Nancy! Jessie has to go!

I cry at just about everything...even when contestants decide to split in Golden Balls! So why do I remain completely unmoved by this performance by Samantha??? I felt terrible for Jessie, who got negative comments she didn't deserve. Samantha failed to move any of the panel with this song and STILL they praised her to Jessie's detriment. I think Rachel should win it, but I sincerely hope it's Jessie and Jodie in that final with her!

John shouldn't have compared Jessie and Sam, especially with negative comments for Jessie. He's supposed to comment on Sam's performance, and you're not supposed to crush other people! I quite like Sam, and since Niamh went (sob sob :() I would like Sam to be Nancy.

Vocally Sam is not even in Jessie's league, although she isn't bad. Jessie is probably the best vocally left. However, all three girls have their own traits. I think to some degree there is a level of bias against Sam because the judges like her. I wouldn't call what she's done rubbish. That's entirely too harsh, because it can be easily argued that most of Jessie's hasn't been good by someone who she didn't connect with. Sam should have gone though.

John Barrowman is so arrogant.... did you see the look on Rachel's face when he said that about Jessie? They're friends. :D And poor Samantha... she's only seventeen and she's being told that all the men in the audience will fancy her. (it's the DIMPLES) That's got to be kind of awkward... and it's such an English thing to say! xD I think Barrowman overstepped the mark there though. Besides, sharks are stupid. What a terrible comparison.

For my money, Sam is completely unlikable and Denise was incredibly off with that comment. I can see that she's a great performer, but I cannot like her at all. They favor her so heavily, too. Ugh. If there's anything Samantha isn't, it's likable.
