I agree Anne Hathaway is great but she isn't a supporting actress.. even if she is only there for half of the film but Sam Barks did a great justice to Eponine and I'm so happy she get the film role. I just wish she was able to win or even be nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

I remember this day so well. I remember her before she even started her Eponine days at Queens theatre. She was 19 then. I ran her US fansite, and we because good friends. When she was announced for the movie role, I couldn't be more proud. This video always brings the feelings back. She's the sweetest, and I'm so proud of her and all of her accomplishments. She'll always be a very important person in my life..

Especially since it barely happened at all in the movie! Pretty much everyone else was fame over musical talent, which is why she shined even more so than usual. One of the very few people in the cast one could actually imagine also pulling the role off on Broadway - obviously in her case you don't even need to imagine, since she did it. ^^

I saw a advanced screening yesterday in Sydney,Australia & I can tell you the film is twice as emotional as any live Les Miz performance. Samantha was fabulous but in the cinema I have never witnessed almost the entire Audience bawling (not crying) out loud uncontrollably. The film is fabulous. A warning; if you do not like crying in front of strangers then you should pick a seat away from other people.( & I am very serious). I have already bought my ticket to see it again.

Dont worry everybody, I saw the film on Saturday 22/12 in Sydney,Australia & she was brilliant, when she sings "On My Own" it takes your breath away & will make you cry. Her role as Eponine in the film will break your heart several times. She is among a cast of Superstars & she fits in sublimely. By the end of the show all the Audience were a blubbering mess. I am going to sere the movie again on Xmas day. Don't wait for the dvd , it won't have the same effect. This is a unforgettable moviie.

Acting on camera is very, very different from acting on stage. Samantha Barks was stage before film, so she's obviously not as good as Anne or Hugh or anybody else yet who have had experience in countless other films - but I see great talent and potential (: She is truly wonderful.

I really relate with Eponine. With how she is inlove with a boy who dosn't love her back. And that 1 line in the movie she said just killed me.
