Alvin Lee Ten Years After. Among my all time favorites. I cover a few of their songs at open mics. I'm 73 music keeps my spirit flying and never down. This song you are reviewing I picked up my guitar and could play it instantly while other songs may take me a long time to figure out and master. Sad that Alvin has passed. forever fan here! Nice review and story! Air Force Vet here.

This is one of my all time favorite songs, even though I'm not a huge fan of the group. Never tire of it.

Great song. Boy, I'd love to change the world. Things certainly getting worse. I'll leave it in God's hand's to clean house at the end of this age. He's much better equipt.

I love TYA!! Funny how this was written all those years ago and the lyrics still apply today. I've got some more TYA on my list for upcoming requests. These guys were badass!! My favorite albums were Shhhh, Watt, and Cricklewood Green, but all their stuff kicks!

I will go and "take a listen", I am not sure if I know anything else they play, many times I don't know what the song is by the title. But, I have always LOVED this song and Alvin's awesome guitar playing. As far as the lyrics to this song, things have not changed all that much and this is sad. The only change that I have really seen is Marijuana being legalized in many States. All I can say is "It's about damn time" 🤣

@RockinReactionRollers My advice to you on TYA is to pull up the video of them doing Good Morning Little School Girl at Winterland. That should get you hooked on TYA! Of course, singing about ballin little school girls all night long might not be PC these days, but back then, I was a school boy too lol.

@@chazblitz I "took a listen" to Good Morning Little School Girl" totally different sound than this song, but I did like the song and do not recall ever hearing it before. Also, listened to "A Space in time", same thought here, they do not sound like the same band, but still good. This was their biggest hit, but I believe it's because he really shows his guitar skills in this song.

Perhaps next veteran's day you could consider the song Only Nineteen by Redgum. It is about an older man's reminisce of his time in Vietnam when he was a 19 year old soldier. It is very moving and loved by many veterans even though it is not an American band. The best version is more recent by the lead singer John Schumann where he preambles about the effects of PTSD in the Vietnam veterans. Many US ex-services personelle have movingly reacted to it on KZbin.

What a great track. I only came across this about a year ago. I don't get too hung up on political lyrics, they're usually a reflection of public mood at the time. If I like the track, that's enough.

Alvin Lee aka Captain speed fingers, Jimi Hendrix was watching his Woodstock performance from backstage, turned and supposedly said "man, that cat can play". Another Jimmy, Jimmy Page said "Alvin Lee is the only guitarist I'd pay to go and see".

I have a story about the ultimate AI I've been writing for a long time. It's stuck because the AI knows anything it would do to help or improve on things would have an adverse effect on something else. 🤥 And War Games already covered the "best not to play" angle.
@RockinReactionRollers10 күн бұрын
War Games is a great song as well. One that we do not have on this channel. Maybe we will have to play it. Don't care what others think especially AI
@randybaker604210 күн бұрын
@@RockinReactionRollers I was referring to the movie. 😂 And everyone alive 10 years from now will definitely care what AI thinks. 😅 I liked your picks for veterans day.

Sad there is so much that hasn't changed, and how we're going backward 😢
@RockinReactionRollers10 күн бұрын
Only great thing that has come out of the past 50 years is Marijuana has been legalized in many States, it's about damn time. There are other things that we for sure have went backwards on and glad we got to vote for those things per State that we live in. Should have never been changed IMO!!

Lyrics Everywhere is freaks and hairies Dykes and fairies, tell me, where is sanity? Tax the rich, feed the poor 'Til there are no rich no more I'd love to change the world But I don't know what to do So I'll leave it up to you Population keeps on breeding Nation bleeding, still more feeding, economy Life is funny, skies are sunny Bees make honey, who needs money? No, not poor me I'd love to change the world But I don't know what to do So I'll leave it up to you Oh, yeah World pollution, there's no solution Institution, electrocution Just black and white, rich or poor Them and us, stop the war I'd love to change the world But I don't know what to do So I'll leave it up to you
