Nah, tal sacrifices but it is a worthy sacrifice. Most end up sacrificing their whole board and win in the end with an extra figure or pawn. Tal kills his queen to find an early end to blood.

I am from Riga and very pleased in your interest of Mikhail Tal. Tal is a national hero in Latvia and we even had an opera about him: "Mikhail and Mikhail are playing chess". This is an ultra-modern opera based on Tal-Botvinnik fight where a young student from Riga beat Soviet chess machine. Story of the opera is based on the famous sixth game. The game is demonstrated on the chessboard, every move is supported with some musical motive and also commentary. There are two orchestras on the stage - white and black and with every piece leaving the board, one musician is leaving the stage as well. The opera made a very strong impression on me. #tal

One of the members of the Soviet team told the others to prepare their passports in the airport. Tal is amazing. He's my 6 year old daughter's favorite player. Of course she only plays her particular version of chess, you know, with teleporting Rooks, casteling Queens, and SUPER KNIGHTS (and all the pieces end up as friends at the end...). But still... the child clearly has class...

Lol, it gets better. My son is 17 now and when I started learning him to play at age 4 was more or less the same...The King needed to protect the queen for example, and their were unloyal knights in love with the queen, you had to watch out for them, especially as he was able to make your knights unloyal but his never were ,lol. Now he is our country u18 champ and he has a +2200 elo and the last time I won a game against him was like 6 years ago. Tal is high up on my list as well. So is Morphy, Fisher, Petrosian, Carlsen , Kasparov, Karpov, Capablanca,...There is a lot to learn from these great masters of the past. Top level chess is all about knowledge and coming up with efficient variations that give you a stronger position and better control over the center than your opponent. You need to limit his possibilities so you can move freely. It sounds easy in theory, but with more possibilities on a board of 64 squares and 32 pieces than there are grains of sands in the world, it's not that easy once you start playing. The best constructed plans can lead to disaster. Marshall theorized for 10 years on how to break down Capablanca's classical Rui Lopez attack when playing with white. Casablanca showed exactly why nobody above a certain level plays the Marshall gambit. 10 years of thinking and Capablanca broke it down with ease. These days Grand Masters have teams and supercomputers to help them making analyses and make up plans to counter your opponents most used strategies. That sounds easy? Try putting all these different lines for different variations for all the possible openings your opponent could play, into your head. The greater amount of lines that one can come up with using these aids in the modern era makes the game even more difficult at GM level.

Tal was kind of a Übermensch of chess, subverting all traditional rules, sacrificing pieces like no tomorrow and winning either way, creating what are known today to be masterpieces. A man who dared. #Tal

Mikhail Tal was so intimidating in those years that he made seasoned Grandmaster opponents shudder with fear. A case in point is a game played between GM Tal (as Black) and Hungarian GM Pal Benko (as White) at the Interzonal Tournament in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, 1959. This was the third cycle (the first two were played in Bled and Zagreb, respectively), and Benko was starting to think that Tal had been hypnotizing him due to his poor record against him so far. So Benko took with him sunglasses and wore them while at the chessboard. But Tal, who had heard of Benko's plan to wear sunglasses before the game started, borrowed enormous dark glasses from GM Petrosian. When Tal put on these ridiculously enormous glasses, not only did the spectators laugh, but other participants in the tournament did, as did the tournament controllers, and finally even Benko himself laughed. But unlike Tal, Benko did not remove his glasses until the 20th move when his position was hopeless. #Tal

Tal is the reason I started LOVING chess and not just liking it.After discovering games such as Tal-Lutikov 1964,Tal-Koblentz 1957,Tal-Tolush 1958 I couldnt believe that no one had told me about this is school (this is much more important than 2+2!).I was so amazed by his wizardry and still is that it brings tears to my eyes...Literally!Theres so many things to say about Mikhail Tal but at the same time I am speechless. And his sportsmanship...! Tal is THE reason that I started loving chess. But I lately got a little bored of chess and this channel reignited my passion for the greatest game ever. THANK YOU! #Tal (hashtag TAL)

I am very uncreative so here is what wiki says about him: Mikhail Tal (Latvian: Mihails Tāls; Russian: Михаил Нехемьевич Таль, Mikhail Nekhem'evich Tal, pronounced [mʲɪxɐˈil nʲɪˈxʲemʲɪvʲɪtɕ ˈtal]; sometimes transliterated Mihails Tals or Mihail Tal; 9 November 1936 - 28 June 1992)[1] was a Soviet Latvian chess Grandmaster and the eighth World Chess Champion (from 1960 to 1961). Widely regarded as a creative genius and the best attacking player of all time, Tal played in a daring, combinatorial style.[2][3] His play was known above all for improvisation and unpredictability. Every game, he once said, was as inimitable and invaluable as a poem.[4] He was often called "Misha", a diminutive for Mikhail, and "The magician from Riga". Both The Mammoth Book of the World's Greatest Chess Games[5] and Modern Chess Brilliancies[6] include more games by Tal than any other player. In addition, Tal was a highly regarded chess writer. He also holds the records for both the first and second longest unbeaten streaks in competitive chess history.[7] The Mikhail Tal Memorial has been held in Moscow annually since 2006 to honour #Tal's memory.

"Much" pieces is incorrect. It should be "many" pieces as they can be counted. Much refers to a quantity where individual units cannot easily be counted but are measured.
