This has to be my favorite game I've seen on your channel! It beautifully illustrates that chess is not exclusively about making the most logical moves, it's about hiding your motives from your opponent and ensnaring them with moves they don't expect or understand. I'm certain there are more exciting and brilliant games out there, but this whole strategy goes against so many of the basic concepts of chess, it's amazing to me to see something like this unfold so beautifully.

Looking at the beginning of the game, regardless of the outcome I've come to a surprising observation: Emil lulled his opponent. By only focusing on his pawns he somehow got his opponent to do the same. However because Emil started first he already had greater positioning on the board by marching alot of his pawns into passed positions while giving himself greater space to develop his other pieces. It is even mentioned as simple observations of how cramped up Thomas' side of the board looks with a number of his own pieces underdeveloped.

I was just watching this again also. Did you notice at 6:49 Agad says rook to E8 will be checkmate . Am I missing something because it seems that’s not checkmate?
@Javidfarali1980 Жыл бұрын
@@mixer6166 Correct. White's bishop on white squares would have to already be on c6 square protecting the knight in order for the rook move to be checkmate.

Damn having established pawns that far in enemy’s arena comes with a lot of serious options.

Im sure he meant Rc7 mate not Re8
@Erectoralporicy5 жыл бұрын
I think this is what he meant: White plays knight d6 check, king's only legal move is d8, followed by rook e8 checkmate.
