Great job riding her; she seems like such a sweetheart! I wonder if that saddle is a bit wide and causing issues when she's moving out? Can't help but notice that both her a Beau have a bit of a hunter's bump and not much hind end drive when moving out. I know there are other issues with both of them, but just noticed the topline similarities which makes me wonder about saddle issues. Wishing Beau the best and congrats on leasing London.

Beau’s issues are caused by EPM (among other issues as you mentioned) and he has struggled with his top line/hind end drive for many years predating his arrival at the farm. London has only been brought back into work recently after about a year off and is building up. She’s ridden by my trainer with her own saddle as well and has the same reaction (and also at liberty!). It’s an interesting coincidence. Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion!

My horse had a very nice life very loved however neever had his feet done right so we believe had been in pain his entire life. He was an off the track QH. I didn’t know that about him till after I had him. Either way he’s a priceless horse personality wise but his feet are not great so we are taking the slow road to correct it. I care more about him than what I get to do with him. I get therapy just hanging out with him. I do love to ride him but we are on a long rehab journey so get him feeling better. My vet believes we can get him sound so I have faith! He was “serviceably sound” when I purchased him and I didn’t understand that nor did the vet say it. I read it later on the paper. Realized I had purchased a lame horse. He was rideable lame. So we think he’s been ridden lame for a long time. She said the good news was he’s rideable 🤣 but we are working to make him better! Emotionally he just needs constancy and love he’s a super chill and willing dude.
