Hi all! I’ve been feeling quite burnt out from posting 1-2 times a week for the past 1.5 years and having to field quite a few crappy comments, and I don’t want to resent this process, so I’m taking a break. There are some really amazing things happening in my horsey life right now so once I sort things out, I’ll be back with an update. Thank you for all the kind words and support. ❤

More western saddles again! I'm excited. lol I'm so lucky...the western horses I ride just straight away start sidepassing over the pole as soon as they get lined up. I have to stop them because they go too fast over it and I'm not really having to make them do it. This is good to watch with a horse that's a bit green at doing that movement. Sorry you started to lose your confidence there at the canter. You didn't look as unstable as you must have felt but it's very upsetting when you get scared. What a breakthrough for you. So good xo

oooh 4 weeks ago. Almost caught up!!!! yay So excited for you getting a ribbon. Congratulations and so well done to do that challenge. He's a very big horse. Wouldn't be that easy to get on even with a mounting block. When I got my first horse as a teenager I had to ride bareback because my parents couldn't afford a saddle and I had this old bridle tied together with hay band. The things that never bother you when you're young....lol Love from Oz xo

Nice hat! But, OMG I could never ride in that snow. Not that I ever did. We did have snow one year many years ago high up on a bit of a mountain where I trail ride. It wasn't snow like that - it was more like sleet or maybe ice on the side of the tracks but haven't experienced it since. Must have been late 90's. May have missed something...Is there no indoor there? No way this old princess could ride in that. A bit of rain is my limit. You're very keen and tough! ooh yeah Western!! xo Have you got a coat that covers your' knees? I have a really good coat. It's waterproof and comes about mid thigh. Probably harder to ride in but keeps me dry. Not that I ever really get that wet...lol Yes, some horses are definitely more comfortable than others. I loved my Anglo Arab. He used to float.

This is by far the best and safest place you've been. Riding must be very hard after your back problems. You should be very proud. Funnily enough I love being on the lunge as it means I can just sit there and concentrate on my seat and not have to steer the horse. I can just let go.

This must feel like you've gone to heaven after riding London (as lovely as she was). Taser has such a beautiful even trot. So good for you! After following you from the start (binge watching lol) I'm so happy you've found this beautiful boy. Walk to canter is great isn't it. At least I find it much easier that going from a bouncy trot. Much love from Oz xo

I was wondering how long it would take for all the comments to start rolling in. I have a few thoghts on this mare but I'll leave the comments up to the 'experts'. I just want to enjoy your journey and not get into the nitty gritty. I was enjoying the earlier videos where you didn't have that many comments. I hope you're not getting too many nasty ones because I know a lot of content creators do get quite a lot of negativity in the guise of being helpfull. Interesting about the stirrups being shortened. I was having a lot of trouble using my legs in the western saddle and my coach actually lengthened them and I can now use my legs so much better. Also the western saddle seems to put my lower leg in exactly the right position. I've never had to really try to get my legs under me as they just do that with the saddle. When i did English I was riding very short in a jumping saddle and I felt very unstable and in fact fell off over a jump which I put down to shorter stirrups which I wasn't used to. So brave and your doing so well.

That was brave of you! You wouldn't get me even trying to canter a green ottb. Anyway I'm almost caught up...In the meantime I'm trying to guess why you ended the lease on London. I'll know by the end of today! Love your journey and I'm definitely excited to get to the present time which is January 2025!

Sounds like Melbourne weather. We get 3 seaons in one day sometimes. lol That canter's looking so good now. You're sitting up straighter. I know you have a back problem but it's definitely looking so much better. I don't ride 2 point but it looks harder than full seat.

Looks very difficult trying to ride him on that rough outdoor area. I ride some very rough trails here in Oz but the horses are very used to it. They don't like not seeing where they're about to put their feet especially when the grass is very long you really don't know what's underneath it. You did well to bring him back.

He just doesn't like all that jumk in the paddock. Its a lot to deal with by himself without a buddy but you did awesome. Doesn't look like he had a problem with any of it on the way home. funny that. Weird how you can take them past the same thing they've gone past 100 times and that 101 time they'll shy at it. Lovely trail and so green. We don't do that green in oz. lol

I've been doing some Western dressage which is more like English dressage and more contact and differnt than cutting or reining. He looks like he's getting into more of a frame and stepping those hind legs up to his forelegs. You're doing amazing.

The thing I love about western is the spurs. Sounds terrible in way but it means I hardly have to use any leg pressure because I'm just not that good at applying leg aids. It's taken me a long time to even learn how to turn my toe out and use the spur so that i get an instant response. You're such a sponge and love learning all this which is so great. I wish I was less of a lazy rider but oh well, at 72 I've deserved to be a bit lazy. lol

Great job. I had a standardbred that used to do that head down and shake thing which i would swear he was going to buck but he never actually go there. lol Good that Beau did that becuase it gave you the confidence to know you could deal with what maybe the worst he could do. (hopefully!)
