I Decided To FINALLY Give Diablo 4 a Try For The First Time Review

Diablo 4 is the definition of a Carmel onion. The first play through is really good, but there is literally no end game. What really kills the game though is the terrible itemization. They have a ton of conditional damage modifiers - we are talking over 20 - and all of them are additive. They all effectively do the same thing because they go into the same bucket, which results in just a complete and convoluted mess of modifiers. Additionally, they made their chase items like shako so obscenely rare that of 7 million players in June, only 2 people found one. This is somewhat being addressed next week, but it’s one of many examples of bizarre and, frankly, flagrantly incompetent design. The game is honestly just flat bad and will likely take them over a year to get into an acceptable state.

Whaaaattttttttt. Dude that is crazy! Only 2 people? Wow... I hope they fix a lot of this with the new patch. I'll use this time to get used to what currently is I guess lol

@@BTHDreamer they had what they call campfire chat yesterday and much of what they said was not very well received by the community. To address critical and vulnerable damage modifiers being better than everything else because they were multiplicative, they decided to also make them both additive like everything else. This is effectively going to function as a massive nerf to literally every class, which is something they have persistently done since launch. I feel a bit bad saying this, but it’s hard to argue with the community consensus that the current dev team is in over their heads. Since the game launched, it’s been such a dumpster fire that it’s actually oddly captivating. I can’t help but watch with this almost morbid curiosity. You will enjoy your play through of the game, I bet. It’s actually really good. Then you will get to level 60, and after that you will suddenly find yourself back in D2R lmao.

Not to mentioned they nerf all fun potential build. Build limited is also annoying !

@@geekphysique4564you aren’t wrong. The current dev team has shown that their solution to just about everything is to take out the ol’ nerf bat and just starting swinging it everywhere. This has resulted in a cycle of people investing time and effort into a character, only to one day log on and find out it is no longer viable to play. I’m going to monitor the game to see what state it is in from season to season, but I do not expect this game will be in a good state until it gets new leadership and said leadership has had a year or so to clean up the mess it is.

Lol I have kinda had that feeling... d2r is just kinda king man when it comes to it. I had a little bit of hope... but yeah.. 😅😅😅
