I’ve never been too much of a fan about Presence but Match point is one that I have and always love to wear. If you ever come across Presence Cool during a rack store hunt, I highly recommend picking it up. Easily one of my favorite freshies from Montblanc.

Gerard, I have seen both fragrances at Burlington and I never bought them. I am glad that I passed on them. Sometimes you get lucky with blind buys and sometimes the fragrances are not good. Thanks for making the video and giving your honest opinion on the fragrances.

I own Presence and really like it. I’m a fan of cinnamon, cardamom, and tonka bean fragrances. I have to overspray to get more than 4-5 hours. It’s a very safe office scent.

Lacoste's matchpoint is a pretty good line. I prefer the cologne with the rhubarb note. Great summer cheapie.

Love seeing your area's racks as always. I know the feeling of browsing past certain frags in the racks and scrolling past certain frags online and then finally catching a case of the F*{k-its and pulling the trigger. The upside to online is it's usually the 5th bottle kicker for the free shipping so its usually close to "free" and I got 4 other scents in the haul if it's not a winner.

I'll be interested to see your weekly wears and get a full review of Match Point. I've been on the fence with it, I appreciate your honesty. My favorite is the original Lacoste, the 1984 green and white bottle. It's really great. Opens with a lime blast and some menthol-like notes. Smells like alligator polo shirts and money. I haven't seen anything like it today; in fact I wore it this week. Great stuff!

I got a Parfum de Marly Haltane the other day from Fragrance Buy and unlike the one I smelled at Neiman Marcus this one had a almost gasoline note to it . I know everyone says they sell authentic bottles I feel like something is definitely off even though the bottle and everything else seems legit compared to all the other 4 bottles I have from PDM I bought at reputable dealers . When it dries down its still a little noticeable as where the one I smelled at the department store didn’t have anything like that the several times I’ve walked by and sprayed it over the year . What are your thoughts ?

I know they are an authentic retailer I personally haven’t ordered much from them but what I have has been fine. Maybe ask them if they would be willing to send you a new bottle? Otherwise giving it more time could make a difference as well. I’ve had fragrances like that that have sat for awhile and once I start using them they settle.

I'm a fan of Presence and Presence Cool. For $20, you can't go wrong with either, though I'd have to say I vastly prefer Presence Cool. Match Point EDT unfortunately suffers from being not a complete fragrance in my opinion. Horrible performance. They severely improved on it with the EDP. They came up with a Match Point Cologne that I'm interested in trying.

When you mentioned synthetic and almost sour. Is that what synthetic stuff usually smells like? Some really cheap fragrances have smelled sour, and or powdery. Those are the only frags I can't do. And I've thought that maybe they come off like that because I use bar soap to shower (?).

This is a great question. So when I say synthetic in a good way I’m usually getting dryer sheet, fuzzy, static. It’s clean but tickles the nostrils. Synthetic in this case was chemical like. There are fragrances I like with some sour nuances but they are balanced. The sourness here isn’t balanced but does fade fairly quickly. Again fantastic question.
