I Decided to Play Smash 4 Again. It Was Insane.

Was surreal seeing the sendoff for smash 4 on stream after all these years. I remember being in middle school in 2015 and staying up late watching the For Glory Fridays, viewer battle streams (not subs, viewers), and Nairo's projectile-only Link with the tag "Best Link" somehow actually winning games online. Now I'm here in 2024 and am so sad to see the door closed on smash 4 online 😢

The game where I not only started to take it seriously but also met a LOT of good people on. Mewtwo was one of the biggest joys. Mained Ganon even if he was bad but had a LOT of success with him. Falcon was too much fun, and picked up Lucina and Roy to do work with.. The game was the reason I found A LOT of the important people in my life. It will be missed.. Honestly? A lot. I gave the games Jank so much shit and still I can't deny I loved it. Rest in peace Smash 4.

Smash 4 wasn’t my first smash game, but towards the end It was what got me into competitive didn’t actually play it much though. I wasn’t a FF fan when Cloud was revealed but that was still insane regardless.

iirc, ult added universal 3-frame jump squats. That might be why nairo is JC up-smashing instead of insta-uairing as falcon has like a 5f jump squat or something in sm4sh.

Smash 4 wasn't as good as Ultimate but it was the GOAT at the time. We had so much fun playing it with my friends on our 3DS in highschool... I will cherish these moments. Rip smash 4.

It was so weird to go back but I started getting in to it even though the controls were wonky, still miss Ness' up air even though new one is great.
