(Sorry, James). A lot of the time, the sunglasses aren't to shade his eyes from the sun. Not going to elaborate.

Your set from Saga was such a creative journey! I think I've seen 80% of all your sets on KZbin and all your performances in Bucharest. This one was magic! (Thanks for showing all the technical issues behind Saga, there is a huge debate in Romania now. You saved the festival, together with the techno stage which is sick every year)

That's a 3/10 for me : had too many issues at the VIP, they had hot beer on friday, and cold was outside the VIP area but they refused to let me enter with my can (also bought in this festival) because theirs were in glass ! I missed the full set of Raye trying to solve about that issue, and finished to the infirmary because i was mad they split the vip into two parts without telling us (front part was for tables only, but they changed the rules without telling us and we paid for nothing) so i broke my bracelet in front of them and cut my finger :) When i finally came back, Hardwell went mad... The day after we finished we nearly had a fight and finished with the gendarmerie to explain them our issues because we still couldn't access the vip area, and it fucked up our night (without counting the cancelation of Nicki Minaj). So the 3 points go to : 1 to James Hype (exceptional energy and DJ set), 1 to Mind Against (best music heard at this festival) and 0,5 to the beer which is the best friend on a festival and 0,5 to Armin (i don't like his music but the show was great and he also saved the festival) #fuckSagafestival

you might not see this comment, James. but I want to say thank you for giving us such valuable insight on what it's like to be a REAL DJ. From production to performance and everything in between, you really shed light on the hard work artists have to put in to be successful. You're unlike any other DJ I've discovered cause... WHO DOES THIS?

Would have loved to see more of the process of putting together a last moment set, and how you went about selecting tracks to freestyle at the latter part of the set. I presume you pull transitions from your previous sets and live streams, but you also said you were swapping in new tracks. You are definitely an inspiration

with the years and shows of experience he has, I'm sure he's able to do it almost not thinking. That's mastery in his craft

James is one of my favourite DJs right now. We don't play the exact same style, nor do I play the type of shows he does. I mean, who else does that? But the documentation of his travels, the transparency he has with his fans and the level of I DON'T GIVE A FUCK he has is off the charts. I love how he remixes shit for a single event taking local styles and tracks and remixing them for his set. Amazing work. I love to see you deleting everything and creating a new set; normally, he evolves his set, so I want to see a complete restart. Pull the plug and add all new shit. LOVE IT. HE DOES THIS

I'm a small local DJ, but felt the same about two months ago, and did a 3 hours set where I only got new music for my entire set, it was liberating. I think as a DJ event though it was all new music, I am still who I am with MY taste and my preferences and it turned out great, good on you.
@unlockingthemasculine6 ай бұрын
I see a couple of people in here complaining that you’re planning your set, one of the main issues in Australia is that our artists don’t plan their sets and have huge egos so when someone pays $160 you’re getting a half cooked set because they don’t put any intention behind it, thank you James for doing what you do because you care about the crowd 💪🏻

I agree with James Hype on 09:09 - 09.11, there is a certain DJ I like and I loved his set, but i start to realize - when I see his live performance from 2016, 2018, 2019, 2023 damn it's the same damn songs that is AHMAAAAYZING but just got me thinking on how James Hype stated. It's amazing tracks, but as a DJ I think you should not be afraid to introduce new sounds.
@DavidSmith-qf3sm6 ай бұрын
Some songs you could do something with: Molok, “ sing it back” Fat boy slim “ Funk show, Brother” Roger Sanchez “ another chance” “ hi Jude” ( just play the “ HI Jude, make a song and make it better”) None have to be played fully but all are known by a dance crowd. Like you say it’s hard to keep coming up with samples to use.

I didn't delete all my music, but all my music recently got deleted! So devastated! I had about 4/5 songs almost finished and about 50 songs in various stages of completion... And the hard drive that my project files and saved audio on got corrupted and i lost everything! And i can't bring myself to create the songs again. I probably couldn't anyway because i don't remember exactly what presets/samples i used or remember how i made the presets either! Absolutely gutted! And i can't think how to prevent this from happening again in the future! I don't think the cloud can save project files/audio for the project and recall them in the DAW.
