So glad you learned to sew, I think you'll find it very valuable as a skill for life. Your bag turned out great, so did your crocheted bag. You are learning fiber arts at the speed of light!! Your sweater design is absolutely beautiful and looks so good on you. You rock all your making Dr. Liu.

Congratulations Dr. Liu ! What a lot of work that must have been. Wishing you a belated "Happy Birthday". You asked about a Canadian Technical Editor. Kate Atherley is a tech editor and also an author. I have her book, "The Beginner's Guide to Writing Knitting Patterns". Your sweater surgery is amazing as is your "Harbin Sweater". You did such an excellent sewing job on your bag. It is hard to believe it is your first project. I like your sock darning. I have a pair that needs mending. So glad you like Brioche knitting. I also enjoy Brioche knitting and have made many cowls as gifts and for myself as well. You are lovely in your wedding photo. Such a great photo! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on your "Wall Garden Pullover." With appreciation, Sarah

Lovely to watch, I really look forward to every episode of your podcast. Well done on all your accomplishments this time, Dr Lui! The Harbin sweater is gorgeous to look at but I’m not sure I could cope with the scratchiness! Your future makes look very exciting 🎉

Thank you Janey! I used Lettlopi partly because I wanted to catch the trend of Icelandic sweater knitting😜. I’m going to research into non-scratchy yarn substitutions for it as I develop the pattern!

My VERY late, but warm, congratulations to you, Dr Liu!! ❤ I’m catching up with your podcasts from the very beginning, enjoying every minute!! As being a non-native english speaker myself, I prefere others that do not speak so fast, as natives automaticly do. So don’t consider that a disadvantage! Best wishes from Malin in 🇸🇪 Sweden

Sweater looks great! Helical knitting is a technique alternating balls of yarn to avoid visible differences in balls of different dye lots. The Garden Wall Sweater is very different, a stand-out. I'm working on Petite Knits Moby sweater. Quite the challenge to follow the pattern.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I found the difference in lot number after I’ve knitted a few inches in already. But it’s a good lesson for me to pay extra attention to the dye lot! Moby Sweater is a beautiful design! Happy knitting 🙌

May I suggest that you knit the yoke for the largest size so you see for yourself how the motifs workout. This is better, in my opinion, to know this before someone else dedicates time and yarn to the pattern. Tech editing does always pick up proportion and motif issues.🤷‍♀️. Congrats and good luck!

Thanks Sarah! I’ll find test knitters for different sizes because unfortunately I don’t have a largest size model/person around me that can test out the fit even if I do knit the largest size. But I can always swatch for a repeat of the motif!

So many interesting things in the episode! I think you should cast on both of those sweaters, maybe partly because I have done the same thing by casting on 2 sweaters for myself 😂 Plus 1 for Tom as a gift, which is what I really should be concentrating on 😅 Oh and your sewing project looks great too!! I’m going to learn to sew next year, but I know my first project won’t look nearly as good. You are a natural sewist, I think 😊

@@wildcottageknitting lol thanks! I think I’ll do a big cast on party for two sweaters after I finish my Amy Slipover. Then I can switch between a structure knitting project and a colourwork depending on my mood.🤪 Good luck with your sewing next year!!

I enjoy yr podcasts very much. I think offering translation for patreon membership may be too much. Translation is a lot easier of time. It's okay now while you have time but going forward it might be too much to offer. On another note, i love yr new kit. I think you like what we call 'storybook knits' which is cute. I know you are a consumed person, immersing yourself whole self into knitting but you are doing too much and I'm worried you won't be able to keep up as many many other podcasters do. Please go into this slowly so you don't overcommit.
