Adam....been designing my molds first 5 years now. I desing the jig head using CAD software and then I use the step file to load the program into the CNC using Mastercam. The design are limitless. Like your design all my molds are from raw stock and not cast. I have some sick jig head designs and especially short armed spinner baits for nighttime smallmouth. I will never buy another pre-fabed mold. Not saying do-it molds are great because they are but now that I am set up, I can design and fabrication molds with higher tolerances. You getting to the oast of no return my freind. Your world is about to explode....trust me on that!

Very nicely designed! I absolutely love that the single barb keepers are all on the bottom side because barb keepers that are on the top or both the top and bottom are the main reason why your plastics get absolutely destroyed after 1 or 2 fish.

Good work Adam. The multi block you designed with N2 works great. I had the same idea while shooting the 2.3" preybait last year. Just starting out, I didn't know it hadn't been made yet and gave up looking for a block like that after 3 months of searching lol. I am absolutely interested in this lead mold you have here. Nice idea I do a lot of Bullet and jig head casting A FYI for the keeper casting problem #1 Add a small amount of Tin to the lead alloy Like 1 or 2 oz in a 10 lb melt This helps a lot with fill in #2 Is to Increase the alloy temp A higher temp Lead / Tin alloy also helps with fill in #3 is to preheat the mold to help with the fill in I cast several molds at a time Keeping the molds hot between pours on a hot plate and to preheat the mold before casting #4 Pressure cast if still not getting fill out I use the LEE Pro 4 20LB Production Pots With a FULL Lead Pot with the temp cranked up to close to MAX Put the spout of the lead pot right to the fill hole of the mold to force fill the cavity After the cavity is full Then lower the mold to add lead to form the sprue

Excellent mold. Everything I have been looking for in lead jig molds all in one mold. It covers all the different fishing I do. Well though out design with attention to detail. A idea as you are designing molds A Planing Spinnerbait I sometimes fish areas in the spring that are or are close to shallow flats I find the bass have moved into the shallow flats 1' to 2' deep after bait fish in the warmer water To not spook them with the boat , I make LONG casts with spinnerbaits on 20 lb braid To make the LONG casts I use 3/8 or 1/2 oz spinnerbaits But instead of the standard head design I made a mold that the head is sort of a flat oval or flat round shape But angled up at about 45 degrees This allows the spinnerbait to rise up on a slow retrieve even with the extra weight I am also working on a 1/4 oz spinnerbait that has a chatter bait blade Acting as the planing surface for a super slow retrieve in shallow water

Already designed my own custom CNC mould with custom wire form. Custom weedless jigheads here in South Africa specifically for heavy duty saltwater use. Already have them in tackle shops. Only downside is the cost of the moulds.

@@michaelbarbieri9871 thanks Michael! That’s great to hear man! Willow blade size is about what function you want in the bait. Burn = smaller, moderate/slow roll = bigger. I have historically used a 4.5, but you can’t burn it without the bait turning on you, too much pull. It’s a good “all around” size for normal retrieve speed. I plan to make some with smaller blades for my own box… I’ll probably drop down to a 3 so I can really crank on it over some grass. Hope this helps, it really is just personal preference, so experiment!

@SDGCustomLurecraft I feel you, maybe a deal with a distributor before it gets knocked off? At least this way you establish market share and brand name recognition. Idk how you were going to judge the results and interest here to determine whether or not you pursue production, but if you're engaged in the social media lure making realm - I'm sure you're aware already this would likely be popular. But it's all in the marketing as you know, and that will of course play a role in how well received it would be if released for purchase. Regardless, there is likely a base of builders that would cop one if competitively priced. Best of luck my man, for the glory of God

About 1 min in he talks about the Hellraiser and its addition to the existing patent, which effectively changed the original allowing them to “refile”. The effect of it being… because it’s now a revised version with the hellraiser added, they can get another 25 years on the original (now revised). If he’s right it’s an interesting move! Of course, I believe the Zman pres used to be a patent attorney, so he would know how to work the system! 😂

I like how you got 3 different 1/8 oz holes for the different hook sizes. I would like 3 holes for 1/4 oz because that's what I use probably 75% of the time. I use 1/8 occasionally and 3/8 oz more but 1/4 works well in a lot of conditions. I have an idea for a saltwater lure that nobody makes. It's a critter and I don't understand why we can't buy soft plastic versions. I don't want to say what animal because someone will take my idea. So my question is if the mold companies will make it for me? If I gave them a 3D printer file could they machine it out of aluminum? Any idea how expensive it would be? They obviously create new molds all the time. The animal I want to copy is pretty complicated. Do you have any suggestions or information that might help me?

Thanks man! Yeah, the 1/8 in different sizes has been fantastic. Regarding a custom mold of your critter, you can reach out to Ryan (see my pinned comment) and discuss with him. Cost... I can't say as it really depends on the difficulty of the design, mill time, etc... and if the bug if super complicated you may also have "shooting" issues (lots of extremities, etc). Ryan may be able to tell you better!

Hey quick question would it be possible to have a multi cavity on just the 1/16. Or Have one side straight 1/4 oz and flip the other bottom side with a 1/8 oz I’ve seen a couple molds like that but wanted to see if it’s possible on your version of the molds

Skies the limit on custom molds, yup! The Do-It Drop Shot weight mold is like that... sizes/weights on both sides of the mold - pretty cool way to fully utilize all the space!

Nice mold but those keepers ruin my lures so not a fan. There are wire keepers used by savage gear i believe which are longer and have an added option to secure the lure using a something like a tooth pick once the lure has been mangled by a few larger pike or zanders.
