Try using Pellon Wonder-Under instead of Heat n Bond. It’s made to fuse fabrics to non-porous surfaces like chipboard and is double sided adhesive so you can iron it to the fabric and then your book board. I tried it on cardboard and it worked like a dream: a spot of glue stick holds the front while you iron the flaps down then flip it over and iron the front.

Don't forget to mist a very light cloth lightly with water to make it permanent. Not wet just slightly moist.There are directions that come with the wonder under. I use it on card board with fabric all the time. The fabric wont Frey.

My son and I busted up when we noticed your doggy in the background lol. What an adorable pup. Great video too. I didn’t know about the combined prints feature on spoonflower. Your designs are so pretty, cheery and fun!

Ooohhh this could help me with a book project I'm working on! I have a certain design but didn't really want to print it on paper for the cover

Love your book cloth method. It has helped me create some fantasic notebooks using cotton dress/quilting fabric. Will have to try using the fabric on the inside, normally I stick with coloured end pages.

I only watched this now and im so glad i did, this was so beautiful to watch and your art is so beautiful as fabric! I'm sure you've already thought of a million things to do with it. So so pretty and adorable and just perfect!

I absolutely love how this came out! The colors all go so nicely together, and the way you covered the inside cover with the fabric really makes it look amazing!

Actually, it was extra satisfying to see you cut it all out with probably as close to no spare bits as humanely possible! I kinda wish every project was as waste-free... Unfortunately, I myself always end up wasting horrendous amounts of things just because I simply Cannot math lol

It looks so pretty! The blue and pink thread compliment it perfectly! 👌😌. I’ve also made my own little books and I just got good at doing a saddle stitch (I use regular sewing thread). 😆. They don’t come out as good as yours but, I work with what I have…..being a slightly broke college student. 🤣😆.

With a 12x12 you can get a travellers notebook size as well, would have to paper endpapers though

I started off making book cloth this way that you said but the heat bond is rather expensive. You can also buy stitch witchery which doesn't have the paper backing as long as you're able to iron the adhesive and the tissue all in one or you can use an interfacing which has a non-woven plastic backing and adhesive on one side so you're doing it all in one step. Love you modeling btw. Are there any good finding methods that let you have fancy stitches on the spine but cover the paper? Like I don't want to see the edge of the paper on the outside cuz it'll get dirty and ripped real fast but I do want fancy stitches on the outside?

I have some methods like that in my playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL2F704E01F80BA1E9 And I'm working on more for future uploads ;)

hi sea lemon, i was wondering if you could help me with something i dont believe you've covered. when you use paper for your book binding projects. you never mention what GSM you use. i understand most art pads and books prefer high GSM (between 140 and 200) but i like working with 70GSM. printer paper. etc. ive always wanted to be able to stick my art pieces into a book. but your methods dont always work on thin/low GSM paper. what do i do? i would use thicker paper but i find it difficult to do my art on thick paper.

HOW do you design and make book fabric? I'd like to know the process.
@MakerMaddox3 жыл бұрын
I've always been too timid to mention... I'm a bookbinding channel on the come up (I also do sci-fi props, my two passions) and I dunno, I need a boost my dude! What can I do? How can we make this happen. Just wanting the queen to acknowledge me and maybe help ya boy out. 🙃 There it is. Shot, shoot-ed.

Why not use fabric pieces that are too small for covers to make bookmarks, using the same/a similar technique?
