Hello everyone! Couriway here, today I'm going to see how FAST you can speedrun the Minecraft Seed 2023! It's been a tradition of mine for the last 2 years, and it's time to try it out again this year!

Say he averages 25 minutes per speedrun during the 100k challenge. If he averaged 3 hours of straight beating new worlds every SINGLE day it would take nearly 40 years to complete. Absolutely insane. Can’t wait to see the headlines when I’m at my retirement party that it’s been completed

For the 100k runs, He can probably average 20 mins, especially in the later seeds. At 20 mins per seed for 5 hours a day (easy) and every other day doing 8 hours (around 2,374.125 hours in a year of speedrunning which is comparable to just a job at 91 hours a fortnight on that schedule) that should be 7,913.75 runs in a year so about 12.7 years for 100k runs. if he skips 2 days a fortnight for rest, say for example 1 5 hour and 1 8 hour will put him down to 78 hours a fortnight, it will take him 2,034.96 hours to do 6,783.2 in a year or about 14.7423 years considering ive already been playing minecraft for about that long and personally put in over 2.2k hours in one gamemode last year i really dont think it should be that bad. edit: fixed my maths. It should not take him 40 years to do if he just maintains a decent pace.

1,095.75 per year of work is nothing, 3 hours a day is nothing, that estimate is very conservative. There is no chance he completes this with that schedule.

@@funky555 the 3 hours a day came from the fact that it’s taking into account every single day for however many years it takes. It also assumes that KZbin is not his full-time job (this I do not know), and that even if it is now, it may not be in the future (not at ALL a dig at couriway, just that the hype for minecraft speedrunning will not last forever). So taking into account the fact that it’s an average of every single day considering any other free time, social occasions, vacations, days off, an average of 3 hours a day seems fair but could still be low. But you’re right, the later runs will likely have a smaller average time but who knows, some REALLY bad seeds will definitely raise the average. I just think it is highly unrealistic for him to average 5-8 hours a day for over 10 straight years

You should play the 2023 seed as SSG, if you enter at a lava pool near the shipwreck it the nether terrain is relativly open (lots of climbing up/ dropping down, though) and the closest bastion to spawn (still ~400 blocks away) is a fastion stables with one tripple chest and the 2x2 gold block room. It is a 2k blind from the spawner, but terrain is again somewhat open.

So excited for the 100k challenge. I wish I could join for the first day but I'm in a place with not a huge amount of internet :') When I do get to join the streams though I imagine I'll learn a lot, which I'm really looking forward to as I finally have ideas for how to start a content creation journey with speedrunning myself! i have a few things to do first, but the plan is in place. It's gonna be my own challenge, but also very fun :D

Love the random seed, great times watching the stream. Have you thought about having an editor do daily uploads from run-highlights? Like a single run a day. Would you consider playing on the newer versions? I know 1.16.1 is the most optimal for speedrun, but it could be fun to see some weird new thing, I mean some sculk around the endportal, or the big caves, and everything new.
