I started off on 500 piece puzzles before I moved on to 1000 piece puzzles. Now I do still buy 500 pieces but use them for speed puzzling. I always have a 1000 piece on the go that I like to enjoy and take my time with but occasionally it’s good just to blast through a 500 piece! 1 hour 21 minutes is my best time on one so far - hoping to one day get to under an hour with one.

I am pretty much the same as you! I enjoy 1k puzzles the most, but I also love speed running 500 pieces, to practice for Worlds! 😁 And 1500 are also good, because I can still fit them in my puzzle board, and store them away, but anything larger is a bit of a pain for me 😅 1h 21 is a great time!! That's Worlds material! 😉 I'm sure you'll get there with practice! 🤗

I just got the Poké bowl puzzle so I'm happy to see how much you love it 😄 I don't have too many 500 piece puzzles either, but I just watched a video on how to practice for a speed puzzle competition on the channel "Puzzle with Emilia" and she talks about doing smaller count puzzles for speed and larger count for endurance. She got a great time on BOTYP III, so she's doing something right 😉
