Dude, that's the best ad for a hardtail bike ever! The level of agression that bike took and the jank it rode over, wow! I know Macky really knows what he is doing but, that's an impressive bike as well. Great vid, guys. It's really interesting following you on the race stage by stage. Love from Brazil.

Macky is killing it! Come do some east coast races next season. We have a strong SS scene out here. Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em... always plays in my head when I am forced to hike. Gotta know your limits and be efficient. It's funny when you pass riders in the 50 tooth - err hiker back, coming on the left...clump clump clump.

Questions: 1. How often do you replace the tires over six days? 2. Do you pull maintenance on the bike overnight? 3. After so many races/uses, do you overhaul or retire the bike? 4. Can you use a different bike for each day of the race?
@sydandmacky3 жыл бұрын
1. Syd swapped my rear tire for the final day as the side knobs were wearing out. 2. Not unless it needs something. Generally just clean and lube the chain and check that everything is working properly. 3. Same as above, maintain anything that needs maintaining and keep riding! 4. Pretty sure that's allowed.

@sydandmacky3 жыл бұрын
Haven't actually ridden the AIR 9. This one's the AIR 9 RDO (I may have misspoken in the bike check) and I love it. I'm a big fan of carbon (lighter, better power transfer, made to flex in *good* ways, etc) so would definitely recommend it.

Why are you able to pass all the geared bikes on steep climbs.

Because they tend to shift into an easier gear and go easier/slower whereas I don't have that option so I stand up and go harder/faster.
