As a fr long distance and cross country runner, we all have our own routine. Even though I’m not as good as I understand to be, and hope to get there at some point again; but everyone has there limits. One of my easier ones is if you want to try it: -1 mile Rest for 1-5minutes standing -2 miles Rest 1-5 minutes standing -Sprint (usually done on a track) straights, and jog or sometimes walk turns set of 10 (your jogging or walking was your break) -Push ups 5 sets of 10-20 -Same thing with sit ups of a few variations Rest 5-10 -plank, and side planks on both sides for a minute or two -push up planks 5 sets of 10 (you basically start in plank position, move into push up position to do a push up; and then fall back into a plank) -run up, and down stairs for 30-1hr or roughly 25-50 ups and downs. (This is to simulate running up hills) Then similar to starting this routine is do the routine stretches like A-step stretches, and you are done with my easier routine.

Ash needs to do this circuit as a separate video with music and the whole jazz because I can't lie I was exercising along to do this! Was looking for an easy prep core routine and this is great!

Joanna, you are fierce - even gasping like a dying fish, Ash is enjoying this way too much, and Luke chickened out by only holding the camera. I plan to incorporate some of these exercises into my workout regimen (well at least until my hip replacement surgery in January). Hope you all have a great holiday!

Ash is an amazing boyfriend for you Jay. He is so motivating for you he never gives you a bad word and always celebrates for you even if you fail at something. I think you should both do his abs workout over three months and see the before and after pics and see how much progress you’ve made in the three months. Maybe a post once a month for that month. Jan to March would be ideal while motivated to lose any Xmas fat. You are an amazing person Jay and the tree musketeers and lucky to have you in their lives and helping them.

I love you guys! I used to do more than half of Ash's abs circuit every day back when I was 31-32. I continued it for 9 years. Then, I got really sick and was diagnosed with lupus. After 4 months of prednisone, I had gained 75 lbs and I couldn't even eat because I had blisters in my mouth and down my throat. This was back in 2003, smoothies didn't exist but milkshakes did and I had my fair share. Since then, I've fought leukemia. And this past year, Covid almost killed me, when that didn't work, double pneumonia took a cracking at me. I've been doing exercises my PT has given me. I have pictures from the good days. I can still flex and feel my core muscles but they're buried under 3 inches of fat. I'm in Nottingham now and had hoped to get by the gym to get autographs and maybe a selfie. My dream would be to do a backflip but I can't even do a cartwheel. I severely injured my back trying to build up my strength to come off of oxygen for my trip. I'm off oxygen (for the most part). Maybe when I come back again, I'll be completely healed up and not so fat. But, I just wanted to thank you for making me smile through this last year, it's been physically challenging and mentally fragile, y'all always make me smile! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU!!

The most important thing Ash said was at the very end of the video: it doesn’t matter how much you work your abs, if you don’t lose the fat that’s on top of them, you’ll never see them. So very true!

But remember, not everyone has the body for that. You can be super fit, but your abs won't show until you're dehydrated and with less body fat percentage than is healthy, especially in women. Strong bellies don't have to look like classical sixpacks in normal life.

So awesome to see how much you've improved Jay! Watching you guys work out for gymnastics makes me really miss just moving and stuff. I'd 100% trust the lads to train me. They make it all look so fun, I'll have to get back on the HIIT sessions in my small living room hahaah

I would actually love to try this but my medical condition causes instability in my muscles/ligaments/tendons so I get a uncomfortable popping sensation in my lower back/hip area when doing things like sit ups. Been doing crunches & bridges lately though! Might try modified versions of the ones in this video!

The popping is floating ribs. Happens in women. I would check if you are breathing using your abs or your diaphragm. When you learn on your own to breath through your stomach you end up using your ab muscles instead of breathing down with your diaphragm and that can make you more prone to having the popping in the floating ribs. This is really important to resolve if you are going to work on increasing your abs. It can become a problem if the muscles are not balanced.

This is almost exactly what my old personal trainer had me do as a warmup before doing weights. It was brutal lol. But I also have multiple chronic illnesses, and he never adjusted for that, which meant that I took a full week to recover and couldn’t physically move for like 3 days after. 😅

Nice job Joanna! Ab workouts aren’t easy. I’m a competitive swim coach in the United States and have been for 30 years. Swimming is a lot in your core. It takes a very good strong, tight core to be a good competitive swimmer. My swimmers ages 10-18 do a lot of those same ab workouts, however they do more than 10 of each. As we get older and aren’t training all the time or participating in sports on a regular basis ab work gets really hard, so nice job, I’m proud of you. And I love your channel. I came across all you guys’s channel by mistake, but now I watch them all the time. Keep the videos coming

Did I hear Ash right at the end?? Three sets of this whole routine but you add ten reps each round? So ten reps each first round, twenty the second, and thirty the third?? 😵‍💫 I loved doing this alongside! (just the ten reps each so far though, wow that's tough!)

I wanna give it a go, but I don't think I could do all three rounds ahahah and it's gonna be tricky to find a set up with bars, nback support, and feet locked under something without it being super painful.
