My 10yo son and I are at DI all week with our bay boat. You recommend the rivers like Fowl or get out in the gulf and look for cleaner water? Great video.

Nice job getting that fish in on light tackle! It’s amazing what swims in the backwater!

I like seeing you using a baitcaster. That said, there are definite reasons I use spinning reels, like for yellow-tail snapper, mahi, etc. Just my preference(s). God bless you and family.

Earler in the video you talked about keeping one Red over slot. I agree that we need to keep them for brood plus one other thing I’ve found, as they grow larger they tend to have worms just like the Black Drum and I’m just not into eating worms LOL. My buddies and I used to catch HUGE, 40 - 50 Lbs +, Black Drum in Port St Joe, FL at the ICW going into St Joe Bay. I can remember wanting to put my arm in a sling on the way home. LOL. Great video, keep it. Up!

It was truly a pleasure to watch this video. My favorite part was the release. I love fish as much as the next guy but that fish went back to where it belongs. Awesome video

Big Ugly had a lot of fight in him, once he was on his side it was over. A friend asked me how different do Reds vs Black Drum fight. I explained it like this Reds are like NFL Linebackers and Drum are like Offensive Linemen.

That is an excellent "light" fishing rig ! I have never caught any fish anywhere close to that size. This makes me want to ask what is the largest fish you have landed either on the boat, pier, or beach? Thanks
