Instead of labeling my stamp pads, I cut strips (the height and width of the pad's lid) out of Canson heavyweight media paper. Then I use my blender brush and stroke the color on that strip--heavy at one end and lighter at the other. I use double-sided tape just on the left and right ends of the strip. I do that because over time the ink will fade and I'll need to replace it; it'll be easier to slide my bone folder (or letter opener) under the middle of the strip and just lift it off. As for storing my stamps and dies, I used a modified version of what Jennifer McGuire showed on her later KZbin version of organizing, including the frig trays she uses. She divides her sets by manufacturer because that's the way she works. I divide mine by subject matter. The way I did that was to sit on the floor of my living room with all of my stamps and then pick up one stamp set, look at it and then put it in a stack/pile--think of solitaire--trying to put like subjects in the same pile. As I went along, I got many more piles but each pile contained stamps of a similar subject. When I got done, I took note paper and labeled each of the piles by what I was going to call them--Action (for dies that cut out pop-ups, swings...anything creating action); Background (stamps that create backgrounds, including Concord & Ninth turnabout stamps and cover plates dies); Border (stamps or dies that create borders); Critters (animal sets); Floral; Frames (stacked dies that cut out squares, circles, rectangles, anything that would make a frame); Miscellaneous (anything that didn't fit into other categories--I've got umbrella dies, kites, etc.; People; Text; Halloween; Christmas. It works well for me. And congrats on your assembly! Be sure to put a gold star on the wall next to your door so that every time you go through it, you'll see it and remember to think "I did it...and I can do it again when I need to!" And it will ease your husband's mind knowing that when he's too tired from working, he won't be holding up your creativity. My husband also worked long, hard hours on a rotating shift job. His heart was willing to help, but bless his heart, his body sometimes just needed to rest.

I’m so glad you did this because I bought one and I haven’t taken it out of the box yet, but I was a little concerned about putting together and now you’ve helped me!

Glimmer Machine has a learning curve. I use Hammermill cardstock and it foils well. Gina K Designs color cardstock foils well. SU cardstock does not foil well. I tried all of my CS in the machine and labeled each one with the results. I got this idea from watching Yana Smakula who is wonderful with the Glimmer Machine. How fun to expand the creative possibilities! I am excited to see you create with the stencil butters you purchased. I use my dye inks for ink blending as they react to water and work well. Enjoy!

I am not dissing stampin up bcz I did start out with them over 10 years ago, but quickly found there is a whole wonderful world of products out there beyond SU. Simon Says Stamp, hero arts, spellbinders and concord are my favorite and go to companies now. I also discovered that I am not a fan of patterned paper on my cards...and I have enough patterned paper to supply every crafter in my state! I've also discovered over all of these years that christmas is my favorite holiday to craft so do I have more christmas stamps and dies than I know what to do with...yes I do. I have an addiction problem. Do you like the round ink holders? I'm not sure if I would. I have the stamp-n- storage holders that hang on my wall and I love them. They don't take up valuable shelf or counter space. I've got one for my SU inks(which I never use anymore) 2 for my distress and distress oxides and 2 each for my concord and simon says inks(my favs) and another for my specialty inks. Would love a craft room tour with all of your updates!

That was a great video, you have a beautiful craft room! 😊❤️👍🏼 I love all of the Ink storage, and the other storage you have with all the drawers! An awesome craft room tour to watch is Jennifer McGuire! She has such a beautifully organized craft room! There’s also one other Woman that has the most amazing craft room, I just can’t remember her name! ( I think it’s At the peppermint or something similar) but her room is just so beautiful! I would love to be able to buy all of the organizational things that you have bought, but card making is such an expensive hobby!! I am one of those girls that has complete syndrome! Lol I have all of the distress and distress oxide inks, reinkers, distress oxide and distress sprays. And my favorite inks are Gina K, all of her products are amazing! Especially her paper and envelopes! There’s also another company when it comes to envelopes that Jennifer McGuire had mentioned, I invested in a lot of slimline envelopes through this company. They are absolutely beautiful! And for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of the company! If you search through Jennifer McGuire‘s videos, she does mention them and has a link. I have gotten to the point with my craft room now that I can’t fit anything else!! This is because I decided to get into scrapbooking also. It’s crazy what is out there for crafting supplies nowadays! Back when I first started crafting in the 1990s there wasn’t a lot of supplies out there! Enjoy, organizing your craft room, I had so much fun doing mine! And thank you so much for sharing this. Awesome video!😊❤️👍🏼

Just wondering, is there room behind the square ink pad storage to store the refills for those ink pads? It seems like the square storage that you're using doesn't completely fill the Kallax square.

I'd guess that black and white cardstock was pretty expensive. I'd cut each piece into four card fronts to get the most for my money. Have fun.

Hi Wendy! Your craft room is impressive. All the unused products could be sorted in different lots and sold at a discounted price. I’m a beginner in card making and getting started is quite expensive for me. Just a suggestion! 😊

Wait! I just saw your Alex drawers on the other end under the shelves holding your stamps. There is another drawer (x 2) on top of your Alex drawers. What is that? Can you show that? I think that is what I might need to do to bring my Alex drawers to a more workable height.
