Duchess is a beautiful,smart and wise mare, it might be a good thing just to keep her in your stable, she is a little older and has a problem or two but seems to be handling herself very nicely. Dutches is a beauty that is for sure, my son bought a horse about 8 months ago, was fun the first 2 rides then all of a sudden he went bonkers on him, bucking him off every time, I think even being a gilding he has to many urges, and I’m sure to many females in the area of the stables he is at, so now he is selling him. And well so far some have been interested but no true bites. He needs all around type horse, he wants to start roping, so ya a all around horse. Hard to find sometimes. Tfs your day and family. Blake has a nice ol’ truck. Dutches, she is good, Dutches is part of my mares registered name. She will be great. Trail drive are fun. Take hoof packing with you to treat foot pain. And the never leave home without it, bute. My horse medical kit is bigger than my human kit and I am an EMT.

I really like Duchess. 👍I've always loved paints/pintos. All my horses were mares accept one I had to sell(too long ago now, details don't matter) just before he was old enough to geld. All my mares were great mounts. I hope you go on that adventure with that very lovely mare.

There’s no better way for a horse to get experience than to just do it. When I was training my horses, after doing some arena work so they understood whoa (most important) I’d load up two experienced and two trainees and head out to camp with them for the weekend. John would ride the experienced ones and I’d ride the trainees. We would ride out that night first. The next day after breakfast was the first ride. Switching horses after lunch was the second ride of the day followed by an evening ride, swapping the horses out each time. By the time the weekend was over, the trainees were super quiet and so much farther ahead than just doing arena work
