Its good that you wet your hair, then combed it and secured the elastics, but next time part your hair then brush and put in the elastics that way your hair is sitting were it should when you cut it. Also overdirecting everything to the front gives you a v or u in the back, so as long as your fine with that this haircut works. Your hair looks so healthy and shiny good job 👍

Hello from Germany, I just cut my hair (2 rubberbands) with your method. It looks fabulous !!! You saved me money and time. I normally pay for haircut 70 Euro. Last time I was very unhappy with my colur and cut so much so, that I thought I wasted 170 Euro on both and looked like DIY made. Now I cut it with your method and colouring it with box colour for 7 Euro. Saved: 160 Euro plus tipp. Thanky you for this video and your great personality which encouraged me to just do it :) And my hair feels great and I feel self-empowered now, not depending on others with my hair.

Thank you for this! I have had short layered hair for many, many years, since I had thin hair and wanted volume (which was always a pain to upkeep cutting of layers and not always leaving the salon with the same results - in addition and all the styling involved) During the "pandemic" I stopped going and grew my hair out (eventually to 1 length - typically to the middle of my back) became very long and every once in while needed a trim of split ends. I have very thin hair. One salon actually charged me $50 + tip to cut 1-1/2 inches off straight one length hair! Next salon - $28 + tip for the same (5 minutes worth of work) multiple times. Have been putting off going back again (not only the money aspect but the constant chatter and "upselling of product" which I cannot stand because I research my own products. Recently my hair has gotten way too long and lots of ragged edges. Always fearful of cutting my own hair. I saw this video (watched multiple times) - you made me feel "brave" so ordered some salon sissors from Amazon. Followed your tutorial and it total start to finish (cut 4 inches off) in less than 10 minutes with great results.

Excellent video and cutting method! This really works, mine came out perfectly in a nice even curve in the back. Yes you really have to be careful to get hair as tight as possible because lumps will cause unevenness. Another really weird thing is later on I wanted to make sure it was even and did same from beginning, brushed tightly and wet hair and tied my hair tight and the hairs were all crooked and different lengths!! I did everything the same as earlier, very strange! So try not to go back because you will keep cutting the ends and your hair will get too short, I know because I made that mistake last year when I first tried this method. It ended up so short!

Everyone--male and female--should know basic methods like this to cut their own hair. Even if you are a loyal salon goer. Covid showed us that you can't always rely on these outside services to be there. Yes, people are scared to mess up but think back to all the times the SALON messed up your hair? It happened to all of us at least once. At least if you screw up, it's free. I started cutting my hair (and having lots of mishaps) when I was in my early teens and my mom and a family friend would cut it before that. Went to the salon a few times when friends and family kept trying to get me to go because "it's soo much better". But I was just never blown away enough by a salon cut or the experience to want to spend that amount of money just to save myself a bit of work (plus with how long it takes them to do your hair plus getting there and back, it takes waay more time). Salons are so expensive and nine times out of ten, you just don't get what you want anyway. Now I react to the hard water we have in this region (my hair hates it) and just trying to get a salon to agree to not washing it there and me bringing my own water to spray it feels like too much work to even attempt. So I'll just keep doing my own hair and saving tons of time and money to spent on hobbies or more products for home care instead.

Tells everyone to use good hair shears. Proceeds to use little beard shears. HA!!! Oh and no worries about waning moon. Think of it as cutting away negative. LOL 😂

You don't even need the rubber bands . just part it , pull it forward and cut it . Ive been doing it for years

I think this length suits you very much! We have very similar hair..I very rarely go to a salon to just cut it but since i had my daughter 3 years ago its a little difficult to go with a baby/toddler there, so I get my husband to cut it (and he does a good job)😁 Those scissors you are using look really small for hair though! You must have had a lot of patience to cut it

I was actually surprised how good this length looks. I was usually going for extra short or extra long 😅 Thank you for your comment and support 🤍
