When I was in third grade, they put me in a English learner program because they thought I Spanish was my first language since my parents are immigrants. Even after my parents explained multiple times that I only knew English, they kept me in the program

As someone who is in a hispanic/mexican family, my brothers, cousins and I would always go outside if the coco mango cherry man rings his bell. We would get so hyped to the point we would push each other out of the door. We appreciate them 😌

I don’t even remember learning English because my brother only really spoke and truly understood English so I learned from him. Thanks to that I was deemed a smart kid in kinder but stayed in the Spanish classes till 3rd grade.

I live in Indonesia and my first language was english because my mom is an English teacher and forgot to teach me indonesian lol. When I entered kindergarten I went and tried to make friends but no one understands english. But I was my English teachers favorite student because she gets to talk english with me all the time haha
