The racecourse is actually very near to my house but I’ve never been there cuz I just turned 18. Very interesting perspective to see my city from your videos! I grew up in Happy Valley but moved to Canada. Every time they had a race night, the streets were super congested that taxi drivers would refuse to drive us in. Lol We would end up taking the streetcar home! 😂 So glad you were able to have fun at a race! I hope you get to visit some of the islands (Lantau Island, Cheung Chau Island) to see some of the older villages. There is also a 10,000 Buddhas Monestery hike in Shatin. The entrance is a little hard to find and its a 400 step uphill. If you want to chat with expats, Lan Kwai Fong near Central is the place to be at night with all the bars. Enjoy! Love your videos, Ken! If you visit Hong Kong again I strongly recommend you visit some outlying islands like Lamma Island, Cheung Chau and the Lantau. They have a completely different vibe and you will feel like you are not inside Hong Kong. Stay healthy and stay safe!

Came across your videos and found them very entertaining although they are quite long. I left HK in 2012 after living there for over 27 yrs and still have fond memories of the city. Never tried snake soup but heard it’s good for your body when the weather is cold. You should try taking the ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui Kowloon to Central or the other way round Ito see the beautiful HK skyline. It’s a very cheap way to cross the harbor and a must for any tourists. You could have taken the tram up the hill from Central to Victoria Peak rather than taking the taxi. If you like beaches, there’s the famous Repulse beach and can be reached by the same buses nbr 6 or 6X from Central. Hope you enjoy HK and its delicious cuisine

Actually, the Shatin Racetrack is much bigger than the Happy Valley Racetrack, and more people visit. It always having races on the afternoon of Saturday or Sunday. You can check the time on the net if you want to visit. Many good resterants on the top of the building which are not very expensive but good quality

Horse racing is a huge thing in Hong Kong, and it’s mainly because of its gambling aspect. And compared to the racing in Happy Valley, the racing in Shatin on Sundays is even bigger events, at least from the perspective of the amount of betting involved.
