Yeah LVD is the only mtg channel I can hear as a podcast while doing other things because he reads every line of the card, and explains the board state very well. I’ve mentioned it in the past but he is also a very disciplined deck builder, who doesn’t really use 1-ofs or pet cards in his deck, opting for more consistent gameplay. This really helped me as a player throughout the years

@temporaltomato3021Ай бұрын
I feel like manifest dread decks need to have some sort of "Brainstorm"-like effects integrated throughout, the same way that reanimator decks need discard outlets rather than always pure mill. It feels even worse than a mill-only reanimator strategy to me, because at least there are cards that mill a ton. If you surveil or scry just one or two cards at a time in a manifest dread deck, you're still pretty likely to draw cards you don't want to quite often, with very little you can do about it.

@LegenVD Can you possibly try make this deck again using Omnisience and Charming Prince? I'm trying to put a list together myself but would love to see what you come up with.
@TheWarriorXanderАй бұрын
In that last game vs the reanimator deck, you could have just left Valgavoth on the field, and if they attack with theirs, trade for it with yours, since yours would go to the graveyard that way and theirs would get exiled because of the Finality counter on it. Then you bring your Valgavoth back the very next turn thanks to Portal. That just makes more sense to me since a reanimator deck is likely to have plenty of discard outlets in case their win-cons get stuck in hand.
@LegenVDАй бұрын
Valgavoth would still get exiled to their Valgavoth’s ability. Bouncing the angel to flicker portal seems better or bouncing their Overlord so we can attack Liliana and cast it for free to make them sacrifice Valgavoth.
@TheWarriorXanderАй бұрын
@@LegenVD I didn't realize they would both exile each other in a trade like that, but I guess it makes sense. Love your content btw, think I've watched almost every video since the Magic Duels days. Keep up the amazing work.

I don’t have the wildcards so I made this version that gets spicy with Vannifar to cloak bombs so they’re not stuck in hand. It works pretty good! Deck 3 Atraxa, Grand Unifier (ONE) 196 4 Guardian of Ghirapur (MOM) 16 4 Splash Portal (BLB) 74 3 Island (SLD) 47 4 Adarkar Wastes (DMU) 243 4 Yavimaya Coast (DMU) 261 2 Forest (UND) 96 4 Into the Flood Maw (BLB) 52 3 Botanical Sanctum (OTJ) 267 1 Fabled Passage (BLB) 252 4 Brushland (BRO) 259 4 Oblivious Bookworm (DSK) 225 3 Etali, Primal Conqueror (MOM) 137 3 Stay Hidden, Stay Silent (DSK) 74 1 Hide in Plain Sight (MKM) 166 4 Unnerving Grasp (DSK) 80 2 Underwater Tunnel // Slimy Aquarium (DSK) 79 3 Manifest Dread (DSK) 189 1 Plains (USG) 333 3 Vannifar, Evolved Enigma (MKM) 241

@pmanganoАй бұрын
Ok so i was playing around with this build and to me it seems Ghalta is actually better than etali, etali can hit free portals but ghalta can score you some free valgavoths and atraxas that are dead in hand. Another good thing i experimented with is Lumra, since you send a lot of lands to graveyard when manifesting dread it brings them all back and allow you to hard cast everything. Both are also hard castable in simic colors if it comes to it while etali isn't. Once i actually socred all of them, manifested ghalta with the other 3 in hand which was just magnificent. And then of course i got a sunfall to my face right next turn
@ForeverLaxxАй бұрын
Yeah, Etali just says "win-more" in something like this. You figured out that it's better to have options which win the game while also covering for potential backup plans. The fact both Ghalta and Lumra are in this deck's primary colors only helps this further. EDIT: It also makes Atraxa pulling your Manifest targets to hand less of an issue since Ghalta can get them in play anyway.

I'm surprised you aren't running scrollshift since it both blinks the permanent and draws you a card at instant speed. Also since it's not limited to creatures that means you can reflicker an already flipped portal (if you need that for some reason) to make them sac another 3 creatures.
