Ok, here's what I think should work: Punch-Out!! Switch (2024 or 2026) You defete an opponent and complete all the challenges, and you UNLOCK the character. That would be insane! Also included Donkey Kong. Mike Tyson should be the secret character. Online. Yes if they would add online, the game would sky rocket to Cybertron. And you can also use the characters you unlock. Peach would've been the secret character, actually.

didn’t the arcade punch out take a 7 years stop to super punch out then a 15 year hiatus? maybe since punch out wii has incredible animations, detail and things, it will be the same hiatus for punch out (switch) as it’s suspected to be “good” in every way, so maybe the hiatus will end late 2023 or 2024, or maybe 2025. first, the april 4th 2019 tweet, then the 2020/2021 interview with him, then a punch out memory in the super mario movie (which is highly unlikely but may confirm that it’s still being worked on and the hiatus is almost over.) even if the hiatus has reigned over a decade, and the game development has almost reached 5 years, punch out will forever be one of my favorite games. thank you nintendo and next level games.

I hear people talking about the potential backlash from names and designs and want to put in my point of view. - If all characters have over the top stereotypes, including themselves, it's fair game. - If stereotypes are harmless or just for fun, like russians drink vodka or british people have bad teeth, fair game. - If all nationalities are treated with respect, but a certain group is made fun of in bad taste, that is an issue.

That's the thing. That's the general opinion about the Punch Out characters, the game was pretty big, and a lot of people agree the boxers aren't offensive because they have so much character. That's not to say they wouldn't mess up the characters (and that's my biggest fear for a new Punch Out game). But people being "woke" Is definitely not an issue.

It's very sad that this game was abandoned in 2009, because honestly, it was because of the last punch out game and Jet set radio that I learned about cell shading, if not for them I would not have known about it, the most favorite character from the punch out game is Piston Hondo , I adore him because I like his attacks, as he says, and most importantly, that he is very polite (if I'm not mistaken) I'm very glad that someone knows and remembers this game as Nastolgia from the 1980s

I really hope they make a sequel and brings in both new and old faces. Maybe they can even go the Pikmin 4 route and have you be the boxer with Little Mac being your trainer, as you fight all-new opponents(some being related to previous boxers) to become the world's best boxer. It would be cool if they use Mario characters as secret opponents, imagine fighting Mario who uses mushrooms changes his size or Luigi who would sometimes hesitate to fake you out, heck you could even be fighting Little Mac himself who'll use moves he taught you and Star Punches.

I hate to say it, but the evidence in this video isn’t really enough to confirm that there’s a chance that they’re making another one. It’s just Mike Tyson saying that they’re making another Punch-Out, even though Nintendo hasn’t renewed their contract with him hence why he’s replaced with Mr. Dream in the NES Punch-Out port. Plus, I highly doubt our modern society would let Nintendo make another game like Punch-Out. If Nintendo were to make another one they’d either have to ignore the backlash it would inevitably get, or get rid of all of the stereotypes that are in the old games which would make the game feel dull and not like Punch-Out. Remember Punch-Out for the SNES and how bland it was? I’d love to be wrong of course; if Nintendo made another Punch-Out game I’d be overjoyed, but I’ve just accepted that the chances are extremely low, if not, nonexistent.

Minor adjustment. Nintendo isn't just "buddy/buddy" with Next Level Games, they own them. Nintendo bought the studio a couple years ago. Which makes them a first party developer. So, technically, you could say Nintendo did develop Punch-Out for Wii after-the-fact.

There's 2 really big points missing from this video 1:the arcade punchout games both got ports to switch. This has never happened before ever, most people don't even know they exist. It was a different company that did the ports but Nintendo still allowed them to do it. 2:The wii game actually did lose Nintendo a lot of money. Not because it sold poorly, but because the devs snuck in a panel from sailor moon. Since they didn't have the rights, even if you'd never see it in game, Nintendo had to settle for a large sum of money. This is probably why the wii game hasn't made it to switch despite every other mainline game coming over years ago. I hope Mike was telling the truth. If he was we'll probably see something soon considering next level isn't working on anything that we know of.

Mike Tyson has not been involved with the series since the first game, and even that was re-released without him in it, which is the version we have on the virtual consoles and NSO services. I am not saying it isn't possible, but I don't think Mike is a credible source to say something is definitively happening. I do hope something happens with this franchise again soon though.

Punch-Out Wii can't be ported as-is due to an issue with Piston Hondo. In the between-round cuts in Title Defense, Piston's reading a manga. It was found what he was reading were rips from a Sailor Moon manga. Since Nintendo/Next Level never acquired the rights to that, it's copyright infringement. If they were to re-release the game, they need to do something else with Piston for that scene.

Here’s a fact: Next Level Games is a Canadian company based in Vancouver. Their games are made in Canada and because of that, the NTSC versions of their games are the originals, not the JPN versions. Sure, most other Nintendo games are made in Japan and thus are released there first, but Punch Out Wii was released in Canada and the United States before Japan got it!

I would absolutely love a newer, better, and more updated 'Punch Out' game. Seeing Lil Mac and any previous characters they bring back with today's graphics would be awesome. Along with a plain reboot they could even make other versions of the game too. Either with real boxers like Mike Tyson and Ryan Garcia or they could even do one with characters they already own. With the amount of characters Nintendo has that are high in popularity a 'Punch Out' with a bunch of Nintendo characters could be really fun (if done right). I could be wrong but I feel like it would be not only really cool but really fun to have a 'Fight Night' style 'Punch Out' game of nothing but Nintendo characters like DK, Mario, and Falcon with different classes based on the character like: Tanks: a little more Power, can take a hit, low in speed (for characters like DK) Light Footed: normal health and power but they can go longer before being winded, move a little faster at dodging and hitting (for characters like Link, Luigi, and StarFox) Skull Splitters: Lots of power to end to fight fast, gets winded easily, dangerous up close (for characters like Falcon, Mario, and Samus ... Ok maybe the classes and characters in said classes need some work but you get the idea. It just seems like it would be fun, so much so that I would almost be willing to pay whatever in order to have this game in stores like... Right now. Hahaha

I think it makes sense they probably approached Mike Tyson and they couldn't work out a deal initially so they walked away then he tweets that. The Nintendo comes back they make a little deal, Mike doesn't usually slip up he's a very very honest guy if you listen to his podcast he is brutally honest. I only played the NES version I beat it as a kid loved it, I know people say it's one of the hardest games but I guess I was good back then or just persistent! Punch Out Maker. That’s a game that makes sense for them. Super Mario Maker sold enough for sequel. Maybe they could do the same for this series. You could design characters, program their combos and upload for other players to try and beat. They don’t have a lot of ideas for the series and the last game wasn’t a big seller. They don’t release new Punch Out games because I think they’ve admitted before that there are just not many new ideas for it.

They did Nintendo Switch Sports 5 years after the switch was produced, they take their time when it comes to motion controlled games.

I think Tyson is right. They are slowly working on it. There is only so much they can do with it as far as graffics. They don't want it to look like the same game as the last. That's why they waited so long. I hope the next one is less like a computer animation style and more like a cartoon style. The last one was like a hybrid. It would be cool to see the graphics look like a straight up cartoon.
